NGamer 10th Anniversary

I'd think that every one of our regulars would contribute to that. Especially if the scans of them are up.

Definitely happy to discuss that. Alternatively, somebody with the physical copies could make a YouTube video out of looking back at/reviewing each issue, and put it on the GNamer YouTube channel.

As said, I have physical issues of three onwards and I'm always keen to produce #content!

I saw a solution of an exam paper online a few weeks ago. Each page was onscreen for maybe half a second and it was up to the viewer to pause to see what was going on. It should be easy enough to follow suit.

Well, I think we're all checking out that PDF for #1,so why don't we do a thread for that and if it goes well, go from there?

Interesting fact - NGC Issue 120 was dated June 2006. NGamer Issue 1 was dated August 2006.

That means there was a month of mystery!

They always started to creep ahead in the months, because they worked (I think) to a four-weekly cycle rather than a strictly monthly one.

Got issue one of NGamer downloaded to my galaxy tablet I had a quick glance at it & the resolution is a bit off when you zoom in (not sure if that's a file issue or the app I'm using to read it) but apart from that it's ace!

I remember NGamer missing the scheduled release dates for their first two issues - I went to WH Smith every bastarding day for about two weeks waiting for the first one to come out. Issue 2 was so far behind it's planned on sale date that I thought it had been cancelled.

Issue 2 is a belter as well. That's when they were starting to get hands-on with a lot of the Wii launch games, seemingly ages before anybody else. Some of them got reviewed there and then, I think. It might even be the issue with Matthew Castle's legendary Red Steel 90 review.

For everybody's information, if Issue 120 of NGC is on any of those PDF sites, it's well worth a download if you've not seen it - it's got a superb 'requiem' to the previous 119 issues that takes up about a quarter of that issue alone.

Right, I've charged my kindle for the first time probably in a year. I'll download this, read, reminisce, and start a thread.

I just downloaded a reader called comic screen (this is on android) which is free & easy to use.

The one I got is called CDisplayEx. It works beautifully. I'm gonna read my pants off on Sunday.

That's what I was thinking. I'm gonna go download it now, and have a nice read in the bath Then I'll start a thread, if nobody's beaten me to it.

I've given them a download on the the old laptop from the site gJones posted, be interesting for me as NGamer wasn't a thing I read.

Jonesy, thanks very much for those links. Luke Drunka, I missed the first two mags - I assumed the pre-Wii hype would be old hat, but I'm reading through the scan of Issue 1 now, and it's almost like closure. I guess I'll do more comments in the other thread

BUMPETY - I didn't want to put this in the Issue 4 one, as it's a general NGamer thing. And we may have asked this long ago, but:

Firstly, you know the 6 "dots" under the reviewers icons, indicating the areas of expertise (not including the mandatory Action category):

• Sports
  
• Strategy/Puzzle
  
• Vintage
  

Which of those would you say applies to you? I think that, assuming Bethesda open world games and Dark Souls don't count as RPGs*, it's only really sports, vintage, and maybe puzzle I can apply myself to. There's no colour for Minecraft. I'm a filthy casual gamer!
Also - if it's not already - which character (that must have appeared on a Nintendo console) would you have in your icon? Given that the Thatcherite Gecko hasn't got as far as the DS, I'm-a pick King Corobo from Little King's Story.
