Why are Portugal in the final? I know Wales didn't turn up, but they got one lucky header and fluked a second. This is the first game they've technically "won", having drawn all their group games and had the previous knock-out games go to either penalties or one goal in the last minute of extra time. When your star player looks at himself on the big screen while the ball's out of play, you don't deserve to be there. Also, if I pointed to where I thought the opposition should take their free kick from, I'd expect to be booked. People whined about Greece 8 years ago; Greece were twice the team this Portugal squad is. I hope that Germany of France (preferably Germany) make them look like numpties in the final.

Agreed, although a chap at work did point out that without ever playing well, they're in the final. That is essentially what you said but it's the kind of strength that Manchester United displayed at their peak.

Having said that, I also hope that Portugal get wapunga'd on Sunday.

It is a shame Wales didn't make the final as it would have been a great underdog story but on the sweepstake side of things I'm happy.

Oh well, viva la France! I've always respected the French and how they dealt with their aristocracy.

It's all over! The_Jaster's Portugal have lifted the trophy and it's one in the oeil for the French.

I did enjoy watching Iceland do so well.

It was nice to see Iceland and Wales do well, but yeah, a bit of a damp squib of a tourney I reckon. Ah well, congrats to Portugal and their head coach, Jas.
