| Aye, I don't disagree so it wouldn't be a big deal if they don't allow it & I did notice in the last test that if you time your button presses you can juggle with it. |

| Yep, it's an extra element of skill added to the game. Comboing into Supers isn't something new either - I'm pretty sure you can even do it in Smash with the Final Smashes! |

| ARMS review from God is a geek.
http://www.godisageek.com/reviews/arms-review/
EDIT: I've read a few reviews now and oddly some don't seem keen on the hoops mode & despite my complaints about spam throwers, when I played that mode in the testpunch I thought it was good fun as it turns into a game of reading/faking out your opponent. |

| Argh. Having read Scullion's (positive) review I'm now on the fence again. I hoped that the ten characters wouldn't be the only ten characters. I'm happy enough to play Arcade mode as fifteen or so characters, with some more unlockable. Ten though? Nah. I'm back to thinking there won't be enough in single-player for me. |

| I think most reviews have been positive as the game is fun to play and a laugh online but lacking content.
Sounds like Splatoon all over again but that didn't get single player stuff (I don't think). |

| The thing is, they've actively said that there are more to come through free updates in the future. There'll be plenty to do I reckon. |

| I cannot believe Street Fighter II launched with only 8 characters. What an absolute fucking JOKE, I can't see myself playing that for a quarter of an hour, let alone a quarter of a century! Shambolic. - Balladeer wrote:

Fifteen characters at 4k is 60,000 but ten characters at 1080p is only 10,800. That's like a sixth as good of a game. I'm so angry about this I'm gonna cut off my own arms. |

| I've never played SFII. Never wanted to. It looks like it'd bore the bejeezus out of me. - JayMoyles wrote:

That is more promising, I'd forgotten that. Hmm. Dilemma. |

| Drunka your maths is wrong 15 X 4k (which is 2160p) = 32,400, meaning the game is only like a third as good as it can be. I think you should cut one arm off.
I think like Splatoon, Destiny, Overwatch etc if you review them now, they'd all get a different review compared to launch. Drunka even proved this with his Dairy he did but will it get content you want though, Balla and at the moment we don't know what it will be. |

| Funny you should mention my Splatoon review diary! I was considering doing an ARMS preview based on the Testpunch, in an attempt to write more serious gintendo stuff, but now all the reviews are out that would feel a bit silly. Instead, I might start a serialised review when the game launches like I did with Splatoon. |

| I would back that, Drunky - your Splatoon diary was a lovely thing. Also, I have a feeling that you'll end up buying ARMS at some point, Balla. It'd be wise to buy it sooner rather than later, too. It seems like most of us are getting it at launch and will have had lots of practice if you get it later, and we'll end up tonking you online. |

| I think I'll be happy with the amount of content that is there at launch, after the test punch I already mentioned how I'll likely go through the GP with all characters & with all the difficulty options it has on top of that I'll likely be at that for a while. |

| I think the big factor is the timescale of free updates; if new characters are arriving before Balla's finished playing with the others, it's a moot point. If he plays through singleplayer with everyone, then really doesn't play much multiplayer at all, and is sitting twiddling his thumbs waiting for DLC then maybe it would be worth waiting.
If I felt like being nice instead of making fun of him, because I don't really want to be putting any negativity out into the world today of all days. |

| Thank you, Drunka. I feel much the same. (1:40 train journey down, and another one up tomorrow, to vote for something that probably won't make a jot of difference... ) I probably won't play online all that much until I've aced the available characters in 1P either. That was my Smash approach, at least. |

| Question for folks who used the pro controller during the testpunch, do you use the face buttons to punch? I used ZL/ZR and it instantly felt much better not to mention it frees my thumb up for dodging/jumping. |

| Yep shoulder buttons all the way. Can't believe how good the controls are with the pad, I always found the motion controls a bit iffy but I can't complain about anything with the Pro Controller. |

| Aye, the only thing I'd want to change is how you block (should be on the L button) as it isn't swift enough but I can deal with it. |

| You could use the triggers to punch? I was in handheld, so maybe it's a bit different. |

No idea but I'm thinking they won't be but as Zero said not long until we find out. - Drunkalilly wrote:

I was in handheld, so maybe it's a bit different. You could also use them in handheld mode. |

| Conversation has moved on but it's the ARMS as much as the characters which provides variety. Although even in the test punch there were arms which felt similar, the options they add does fundamentally change how a character can behave in a fight. Basically there are ten characters but there's more ways of using those characters than any other fighter. |
