Yesterday I Bought (a bad pun) for 3!

Man, I'd be interested to see what a Mario encyclopedia would be like - Zelda is known for its lore and timeline stuff, so I'd be really intrigued to see Mario's take on such matters.

I'd actually be bang up for some Mario books! There's loads of great stuff in those games, and if we get lots of nice artwork from across the series history, that could be a grand read.

What is the Mario timeline though? Also, I've seen Darkhorse has a BotW book coming out in November which isn't exactly the same design as the other 3 but does have the same font and motives in the corners that I may have to get this as well even if it is all about BotW but might add bits to the others which weren';t a thing at the time like a new timeline.

I do also want to get the expanded edition guide for BotW to go alongside my Deluxe Collectors Edition from when the game released.

On pickups, I got these today in work during double discount along with a lot of food shopping and some clothes


With Black Panther means, I'm missing out of the Marvel films out in 4K Spider-Man and Hulk with Iron Man having a German release for some reason but I would like to get the two UK ones at some point as be nice to have them all on one medium before 8k is a thing or Disney puts them on their streaming service instead.

I would have got Mario Tennis but I don't know whats happening with that in work and same with Shape of Water which came out yesterday but wouldn't know it from work but I hear we may have it in just sat out back. I'm hoping I can get someone to look tomorrow before double discount ends and I go elsewhere because other places without discount plus we might not have the 4K version of Shape of Water anyway, just DVD & Blu Ray.

Pokemon toys of the three Eeveelutions will go with my the three OG Eeveelutions and Eevee herself, I just now need to find Leafeon & Glaceon from the same set.

The two DC games take my overall collection to 233 for the system, which sounds a lot but my PSN total comes to 490 games (includes Plus).

It's nice to have a big Switch game and some amiibo as we've not had those for awhile.

I'm still yet to see Shape of Water, the slipcover seems weird though as was the only one with it on in HMV, I feel they printed themselves even those has a proper barcode and isn't paper.

Talking of printing things themselves, went CEX with some PS3 games my Nan picked up from a boot sale to trade in, with one being COD Ghosts. It's in a steelbook and that's it, CEX wouldn't take it due to lack of age rating on it which is fair.

Just a little ironic when we all know they've taken in and sold fake retro games and the store I was in & where I got Darksiders had Ninja Gaiden Black on OG Xbox with a printed cover which was the USA cover art and they must have used paint or something to put a PEGI logo on the front instead of ESRB.

I can't see why they couldn't have done the same for Ghosts, oh wait one sells for £1.50 the other £18.

Haven't had a chance to pick up my Off The Hook Amiibo yet. If I'm feeling sensible, I'll wait until I move to Nagano but this is me we're talking about.

In other news, i'm sorely disappointed in myself based on how many of those Best Pictures I haven't seen.

Birdman is awesome - highly recommended to start with that if you've not seen it already.

We've talked about this recently in the Wii U Remember me thread and seeing how much a Wii U is now and how cheap some games are, it's now a great system to pick up now then have during its life.

It's good if you can't pick up the Switch because of price issues... I don't think there are going to be enough exclUsives (see wot I did thar?) to make it worthwhile on its own in a few years though! Unless it's selling for £20 or something.

More books.  Balla will be happy to see three Discworld novels in this batch.  

Now I should clarify that most of these actually arrived a month ago, however Ship of Destiny got lost in transit and it took me a while to order another copy (nabbing Wyrd Sisters in the same order because I figured it's time I met the Discworld witches).  So I've actually already read Reaper Man and am approaching the last stretch of The Mad Ship.

Curious covers they have there... but as always, three classics that hopefully you'll love.

They started releasing those Discworld collectors editions a few years back. Initially I picked up Guards Guards in that edition because I loved the simple yet whimsical cover. Now I just really love the way they're textured, they feel really nice to hold and read, and half the joy of reading is the experience of holding the book and turning the pages. Same goes for those Robin Hobb books, which have a curious texture that feels reminiscent of the sort of material you'd see in older sea maps (fitting for the books given the story is all about coastal traders and pirates).

I picked up this bad boy - I'll get the other two volumes at some point.

On Zelda figures, I would like a Tetra or Zelda from Wind Waker beyond the amiibo.
