Games
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the greatest videogame ever made. Undertale came out since the last time you were on the forum; an indie darling in the vein of an NES JRPG. Titanfall 2is the best shooting around, if you like shooting.
Reading
There are lots of great articles at gintendo.co.uk Athrun's successfully gotten me into Brandon Sanderson novels, so maybe check them out? Most of us have read Ready Player One, with seriously divided opinions. (It's shite)
Other than that, not much has changed around here since September 2015 (!) but the world outside has gone proper mental.

Sir! There's a whole new Switch subforum in the building now, as you might expect. If you've got one, the team seem to recommend Breath Of The Wild (I've not played it), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2. The jury is out on ARMS. From the eShop, Sonic Mania's the best game I've played.
I don't do enough reading but the Robert Galbraith novels are good: crime fiction.
In general, you should be relaxing, as always.

Forum wise, I think it's much the same maybe a vote or a new thread idea like admin team maybe.
Games wise, just on 2017, it has been great for gaming as whole but especially on PlayStation and Nintendo with Sony and partners bringing out an exclusive almost every month including GOTY Persona 5. Nintendo has a new hit hybrid system with some will tell you is the actual GOTY Zelda (I don't like it), A NEW IP in ARMS and an excellent Sequel with Splatoon 2.
Reading wise, I've only read comics like Snot Girl.

It has been a long time - September 2015? I really didn't think it was that long ago.
No, I haven't played Zelda yet as although I have a Wii U, I want to play it on the Switch and and I am determinedly waiting for a decent bundle special as I am not paying $470 for it. I expect Christmas will be that time. I really really do want one though. So much so it hurts with a decent number of good games already.
I do have Gintendo link up on my bookmarks from back in 2015 so I will have a look.
I have been playing mostly PS4 at the moment, loved playing Valkyria Chronicles again, spent a ridiculous amount of time on Dragon Quest Builders and played a fair bit of Persona 5, couldn't get into Final Fantasy XV.
I still play Pokemon Shuffle every day - addicted to it, playing it on 5 consoles.
I will try hanging around a bit longer, I just sometimes go into a dark place and retreat largely, so not avoiding anyone.
Question - what is the easiest way to post comments on Gintendo? Do I need to create an account?

The Switch is a fine console but yes, that's a heck of a lot of money! I was lucky enough to get one for my birthday from my wife - oh, yeah, I'm married now! I would love to get on Dragon Quest Builders but have no console that it's out on, perhaps predictably. As for Gintendo comments, you can just post them up without an account, though you might want to put your username (or name!) at the bottom so we know who it's from.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 is coming to Switch which seems to be instead of VITA, so I don't know why that is and Secert of Mana isn't from Square.

This is very true also! I believe the first is being televised fairly soon as well.

Ooft! Welcome back sir, hope the illness has died down.
If you can't get a Switch, get yer head around Ever Oasis. Destined to be a forgotten gem, sadly. Bravely Second may have come out since you were last here, as well as Ace Attorney 6: both worth picking up. The Switch is an absolutely top little machine, though, worth the price I'd say if it comes down even slightly.
As for reading, those who have read them agree: Discworld. Get 'em in your eye sockets.

Yes masofdas I did see that DQB2 was coming out on the Switch and I squealed like a teenage girl. It is perfect for the Switch.
Thanks Balladeer, yes, on the mend. Can't get used to not being able to taste food though. Singularly one of the weirdest experiences of my life. You don't know how great it is until you lose it. The doctor assures me it should only last 10 days at most, so about half way there.
I actually got Bravely Second for my birthday, been too sick to try it, but I loved the first. Ever Oasis certainly caught my eye though, looks really sweet.
And thanks for mentioning Discworld as I had this conversation with some geeks at week about them (yes, I hang out with the geeks at work - oldest geek in the group by far, I am like the 'cool' father they never had) and I was trying to remember the name of the series. I must get onto them.
