| OCTOBER 2002The full magazine is available for download here - http://kiwis.world/index.php/component/jdownloads/download/269-ngc-magazine/2813-071 *REVIEWS* - 75-89%:
Resident Evil - 89
"Utterly compelling survival horror, with visuals to die for - but the annoying puzzles and structure are showing their age. "Aggressive Inline - 81
"Top-class skating that's a genuine alternative to the Hawkster, and an excellent game in its own right."
Beach Spikers - 79
"Not to everyone's taste, but we found it a refreshing, highly entertaining and accessible sports sim. Worth a look."
Capcom Vs. SNK 2: EO - 79
"Again, Capcom have delivered a fantastic fighter, but purists will have to wait - then pay - for a half-decent control alternative."
- 50-74%:
Top Gun: Combat Zones - 71
"Combat Zones is a real hoot - for a while. Eventually though, you'll tire of the relentlessly similar mission objectives."WWE Wrestlemania X8 - 70
"Wrestlemania X8 is a great chance to pummel your most hated wrestlers in the face - but it should have been much better."Barbarian - 70
"An old-style battler with some new ideas thrown in. Simple, basic fun and hard to dislike, but far from being a total classic."Taz Wanted - 52
"Sloppy and frustrating, Taz looks like it could have done with another few months in development. Still, Mario's out next month."
- 50-74%:
Eggo Mania - 49
"Not as good as Zoocube, and miles away from classics like Bust-A-Move and the original Game Boy Tetris. Disappointing."
Plenty of interesting material this month, highlighting the end of an era (overhaul of a Playstation title, port of a Dreamcast fighter, Spikers was a planned Dreamcast port from the arcade). The WWE game was a big deal at the time given how great No Mercy was/is, but X8 disappointed. Of all the games here, I'm going to give Aggressive Inline a bash. Anyone play it at the time? Roller-blading really died out didn't it... Fun fact: There's a preview of Galleon, which ended up on the Xbox. Also a scary game called Asylum - any ideas what this became? Looks a bit like The Suffering.[/b][/b] |

| What a month,
I remember getting RE:Make from Blockbuster in Exeter and RE:Make still hold ups today on Cube.
I would have got WWE x8 day one and likely Capcom Vs. SNK 2: EO & Eggo Mania at some-point. |
