I'd make a joke about being said baby, but nobody'd believe me. I can't aim!
That team though. I don't think there's a dud among them. James, Wil, Tim (who seems to be a 'proper writer' these days), Jes, Andrea, Kittsy, Paul in his early days... I don't remember Justin so well, what did he do?

Wasn't Justin the guy with the surfer hair? I'm guessing Wil did the artwork, and Justin did the layout/slotting content together. I wouldn't be surprised if Justin worked across a few magazines at the time - there was a tendency for that.

I thought that was Shedwards! I remember him getting the mickey ripped out of him in later issues for it, and also a rather disturbing romance written between him and Mim... Were there two surfers?

Tim Weaver is a novellist now. I've read all but one of his books! He's also a good sport for replying on twitter about them, so I guess hes not super huge yet.

I will also admit to getting a bit nostalgic reading that credits column. PSM really is sterile in comparison to this.

I probably meant OPM when I wrote PSM. OPSM. The PlayStation one. I think OXM's gone as well now. It's pretty much OPSM, PC Gamer and Edge. And RetroGamer for some reason.

The PC one sticking around as surely if you care about PC gaming etc you'd be online and keeping up with the news. Retro Gamer, I've picked up a few times because it was PC Engine edition or something but found little muh.
Guess will no OXM, it be OPM in my stocking for Christmas

Do you think Shigeru Miyamoto has ever played Theme Park World?

His park looks a bit like Norfolk... with a gate.
Incredible voice acting.

That was great. It sounds like he's invested in all his dumb toilet comments, which makes a huge difference. Meanwhile I'm playing a game where the voice actress treats saving the world with all the excitement and wonder of... well, going to the toilet.

I took for granted just how much of his soul he poured into this gig when I was younger. The little Theme Park blob would pop up with more frequency than that MS Word Paperclip. Which was annoying, but would have been so much worse were it not for this man and his toilets.

The Adviser adds so much personality to the British version of Theme Park World. There's other voice actors for the game's global releases, but they're arseholes.
Lewis MacLeod's Wikipedia page makes interesting reading - not only is he Postman Pat, but he's in another Theme Park-style game! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lewis_MacLeod_(actor)

Holy shit, this is reason enough for me to get Planet Coaster downloaded onto my machine again!
Hearing that the other English language versions of Theme Park World had different voice actors is absolute sacrilege though.

It's good to see things happening with the Hogs of War license. This tabletop game is off the back of a card game that was funded last year, similarly made with the blessings of the original developers. They're seemingly quite generous with Hogs of War - I've heard through my work that one of the undergraduate Games Design/Programming courses in England lets students fiddle about it's source code, assets and stuff as part of one of the early modules.
There's something of a remaster happening too:
It would be extremely hard to recapture the 2000 original's personality - not just because Rik Mayall is gone, but because most of the humour wouldn't be accepted these days.

Well that's jolly nice. I've never actually played Hogs of War myself, but there's never been a better time to make a physical thing. HeroQuest is allegedly on its way back as well. Just when you should be touching fewer things...

This was doing the rounds on social media last week:
There must have been times where a video game composer and it's sound designers would have known that they'd made an absolute belter. David Wise probably had a stauner the size of Donkey Kong Island when he was making Aquatic Ambience.

Imagine being the bloke conducting the Mario Galaxy orchestra. Now imagine being that bloke and not smiling.
