Well I've got it on PS5 now as part of the PS Plus collection so they've missed out on my money. If they make a new Snowboard Kids maybe I'd consider giving them extra money.

I might be wrong Balla but again feels like because VITA is dead this on Switch is that version sort of if that makes sense like how a few years ago VITA got the dancing games for 3&5 and I know a few peeps only have a Switch but even in the SMASH stream recently Sakurai talking about Final Fantasy VII Remake, that he is looks as games as a whole.

The drift on one of my joycons (left handed blue one that came with my Switch) is getting proper awful now. I just tried to play Classic mode on Smash as Sephiroth and could only get him to run to the right maybe 20% of the time - otherwise he'd just walk. Makes Smash reeeal tricky to play, and I'm not very good at it anyway!

Have any of you lot sent joycons in to Nintendo to repair? Do they still do it for free?

I keep telling my girlfriend that she should, hers makes navigating the menus in Pokémon impossible, but she never does.

She bought some alcohol gel that you apply very conservatively beneath the flaps of the naughty joycon. Jerk the stick about a bit and then leave it over night. [Yes, I'm aware this sounds a bit like a line from an M rated fanfiction.net piece about joycons]

Supposedly many joycons drift because dirt gets built up underneath them, so doing this DIY method can fix that problem. It sort of worked for her for a while, but the drift is back with a vengeance now.

If Nintendo are still doing repairs, would recommend them. Although I am a bit worried about Royal Mail's ability to deliver things at the moment!

I did get one pair sorted a while back. However, they, and the other pair, and one of the pro controllers, is a-driftin'. I do have some contact cleaner etc. and will give it ago as per Muss' plan in the near future.

I've heard WKD contact cleaner fixes drift pretty well, albeit only temporarily

I have tried using alcohol to clean out the dirt (rubbing alcohol, not WKD) and it usually improves things for a while but then it steadily gets worse again. I'm wondering if maybe sending them to get fixed will help sort them out for longer, although I would fully expect the drift to happen again assuming dirt gets in there again.

Good luck Rum. I've not braved fixing it since getting the other controller - but did remember to get WD40 and not the Vodka one.

Oh man, I didn't think I missed drinking but now it's 2021 and I could really go for a blue WKD . . .

This might not help you too much but if you're fed up on the Joycons braking and play in handheld alot i HIGHLY recommend the Hori Split Pad Pros. The bigger sticks, buttons and triggers are alot more comfortable than the Joycons IMO and Crucially they are a lot cheaper!

I did look at the Hori split pad actually and was going to ask who had a set! Thanks for the recommendation!

So a leaked doc went around which seemed very much fake as it spelt software wrong for instance, but it mentioned a Switch Pro again.

Then yesterday a well known data miner found evidence of a new Switch codename Aura in the current firmware, what they're saying its simliar'ish to current Switch but new screen of some sort likely OLED or 1080p or both and 4K in some regard likely actually a chip in the dock (Guess current owners could also buy the new dock) to output the Switch in 4K kinda like the mods and stuff for retro systems that then have them outputting in HD or 4K.

As someone that's sort in the market for a Switch this is also good and bad news if true, like if it comes out soonish then it's what I would buy and play MonHan Rise, Balan, MonHan Stories 2, NMH3 etc on but some of those games are out soonish that if no announcement or a long way's away (gets announced March out November) then I still want to play them on a TV.

Sure I know if I buy the Animal Crossing Switch from work, I'd get a good trade in or cash but still tad annoying if these info/rumours are true

I will buy whatever Nintendo tells me to buy because I'm a little weak baby boy who wants to suckle from Yoshiaki Koizumi's teat.

Some chat over the Hori split pad pro just popped up on my twitter feed & it has a bunch of different colour options now as well as some Pokemon themed ones.

Got my day one Joycons repaired last year, they charged me £35.

May as well buy some new ones at that rate.

Ugh, gross. I reckon I might just go for a Hori split pad anyway and then contact Nintendo to see how much fixing joycons would cost. At least £35 is about half the price of a brand new set...
