| There's a demo. out for this now - anyone given it a go? Must admit, I'm a bit nervous about this game: I'm hoping it'll be the banger it looks like it can be, but I'd appreciate some confirmation! |

| I've just finished the demo and it reminds me of Freedom Wars X Zone of the Enders and much better than I thought it would be. I can see how the multiplayer could be rather good on this.
Controls did take a little to get used to though. |

| I'll probably try it at some point - I should really make the effort to try new things. I don't know if it's for me though. |

| It's all right. I didn't really understand what was going on in the demo, even though there's a manual explaining what's what. That's maybe because I skipped every text box and cutscene that I could. I just wanted a mech game where you could batter fuck out of big robots in the sky, but instead it's much more like those Armored Core games. That's fine, but still...

| Sounds like what I was hoping for from those brief snippets of forumite opinion! Cappa I thought 'JRPG' the moment I saw it: I reckon there'll be a fair bit of text for you to skip through. |

| Gave the demo a bash but I found the handling a bit weird - there wasn't really any feedback from the mech you controlled - not much inertia or momentum etc etc. Not sure if it's my cup of tea or not - but I have been obsessing over Tetris 99 for the past 24 hours so maybe I'm not thinking straight. |

| That was one complaint I've previously heard. Then again there didn't seem to be much at all from the Skells in XCX and I didn't mind so much there. |

| Just got done playing the demo and I'd have to agree with what everyone else is saying, not terrible but it doesn't have me itching to play it again but I do like the movement of the mech (zipping about on the ground is fun) and it looks like you could change that up to how you like with various stat upgrades or mech parts you earn/find in missions.
Rum is also spot on with saying there just isn't any feedback to what you're doing, not even a bit of HD rumble when you fire your guns, missiles or even when you take a hit. I also wouldn't mind if enemies had health bars as it can all feel a bit bullet spongy & that goes double for the boss you get to fight. |

| Echoing what has been said about the lack of feedback, especially when shooting your main gun. The most noticeable thing giving you an indication you're getting hits in are the small numbers that pop up, and since you're often fighting with other Arsenals the display gets a bit messy.
The frame rate is also not too good so hopefully they work on the game's performance a bit before launch. Also while it doesn't really bother me, when I briefly tried the game undocked it looked horrible.
Otherwise it looks nice and I like all the little details and customisations you can do. Enjoyed a bit of conversation between some NPCs during one of the briefings. Only tried a few missions though and may leave it for now until the full game comes out and it's reviewed. |

| I'm going to have to play the demo. for myself, I think. I'd hoped for a really solid mech combat game, but it feels like I might get a rather floaty mech combat game. |

| I've had a crack at the demo. and I agree with everyone. The robots feel floaty and there's a distinct lack of momentum, and some HD rumble would have been nice; but also, this game feels enough like it's going to be ace that I didn't feel the need to play any more. Turns out piloting a flying robot is pretty fun! Not that you'd know from old misery-Balla... - Cheer up lad, it's not the end of the world:

| It's not a pretty game and I must admit the performance was a bit wobbly in some of the busier battles, but those issues aside... I had fun! Adding new bits onto my robot and destroying other robots was great fun - unleashing a barrage of missiles on some smaller drones and watching them all blow up was immensely satisfying. I wish I found a melee weapon to play about with that side of the combat. I think the big boss battles are where this game is going to thrive as the encounter with the big four legged mech in what seemed to be the final mission of the demo was much more engaging than the battles against the mooks. This should be ace in multiplayer too, I'd imagine. |

| Before I stopped playing the other night, I found a sword, so I'll be looking to give that a go when I play again.
All that said, there was no bald option in the character creator. 0/10 |

| My attempt at creating me makes me look like a reject from a glam rock group. Should be able to use Miis. Anyone have any frame rate judders? I've seen a few reports of them, but didn't have any problems in the one level I played. |

| I don't think your character design is going to matter all too much as looking at the upgrade tree, a lot of them involve slapping robotic parts onto your character and making them into a hideous cyborg. Yeah, I definitely had some framey moments, particularly in the battle against the big four legged mech. |

| Aye I had a few as well but they didn't impact gameplay all that much, also I was thinking this might well be last years e3 build as I remember a few of those missions were shown on the Treehouse stream. So if they can iron out the feedback and a few other things I can see this being fun in multiplayer. |

| Played a bit of the demo last night, it's decent fun. Not the most amazing combat but you can build silly mechs with a bunch of parts and the stats are overkill, so that's all good! |
