Little Town Hero (Up Town Funk Gonna Give It Ya)

Taking over the record for the stupidest working title from Project Octopath Traveler, this looks like it could be pretty fun.  It reminds me of that weird game on the DS where you basically just experienced the life of kids in a Japanese village, only with things to do.  Early days yet though.

I get more Ever Oasis vibes from it, what with the town being central. I'm hoping for town management on top of the RPGing

Looks super interesting! Hopefully the town setting lets them put tons of detail to make an in theory smaller play area interesting (like majoras mask for example)

Yup, that's what I'm hoping for. Small area, lots of detail. The Yakuza of JRPGs.

I've got super high hopes for this, for one it's Game Freak so you know there's a good team behind it and the concept seems like it might be very focused on growing your town and getting to know the locals. I may be overhyping but Animal Crossing with RPG battling anyone? I short this sounds like exactly my kind of game.

I might be wrong but haven't Game Freak got multiple teams with one being the kids who did Ultra Sun and Moon, what's to say they're not behind this.

Which might good thing as look as Splatoon.

Game Freak have this fun thing where everyone has some time to work on side projects and if it looks fun they develop it. The company started out as total bedroom coders, after all.

They have done stuff like Harmoknight before. This looks more involved though.

OR mentioned Ever Oasis: if this is similar in quality then I'll be a very happy man. EO was top.

I wonder what Grezzo is doing part from the Luigi Mansion port.

They might be involved in LM3, I dont think any team details were announced.
That said, they do mostly seem to be Nitendo's go-to guys for 3DS ports so maybe thats their whole schtick?

Yeah, colour me interested. It was refreshing to see a new IP amongst the sea of ports and sequels we were getting in that Direct and like you guys have mentioned, it's coming from a developer with some pedigree too. Keen to see more!

October 16th release, because your Autumn wasn't packed enough already. To be fair this looks small and cute.

I really did think this would be a December game to space things out better.

But I guess if you're Nintendo then the gap between Dragon Quest then to TOWN then Luigi's Mansion is all about 2 weeks.

I did not expect this in 2019 - I thought with Pokémon coming out that GameFreak would have all their resources dedicated to that, but I guess this must be from another team within GameFreak. A Toby Fox soundtrack piques my interest, but I'm hoping for a wee demo to get a feel for this as the trailer didn't tell me a great deal.

Bold move bringing this out before pokemon considering all the national dex hate. Lot of people already on the warpath with that "game freak are lazy, they don't care about pokemon any more" shit.

Those people don't matter, Pokemon will sell loads regardless

The soundtrack should be a good 'un, if nothing else. Glad to see it launching at a budget price too - I'm still hopeful for a wee demo before it launches to see if it's worth a look.
