| I'm looking forwards to it, though I am gonna miss all my Arland buddies, not read much about it but I'm pretty excited. |

| Got my copy today, played a couple hours in. Seems really good so far, imo. Prefer the artstyle to the Arland Trilogy, and the OST is really quite good. The changes to the battle system haven't harmed it, either.
My only concern with right now is the story. Right now, it's just kind of....there. |

| Well, I never got my copy. Amazon said there were problems with it and that it will take a bit longer so I canceled and found it much cheaper on the Grainger Games website |

I'm not quite sure what's more amazing, that GAME actually had a copy of an Atelier game or that you actually chose Agarest over Atelier...
Meanwhile, i've now hit Year 2. Constantly paranoid that i'm not making progress quick enough, heh. |

| In related news i'm just going to ditch here, Atelier Totori+ appeared on NA/EU PSN this week. Without Tecmo even announcing it...
Now slightly concerned about how they're treating Atelier over here. This sums it up pretty well imo. |

| Just started it myself, feels quite Totori ish I think. Really enjoying it but I wish I could accept all the side quests instead of just having to remember them. |

| I want Totori to be my imouto. So adorable.
Didn't realise this game was already out, blimey I feel behind. The lack of a Japanese dub is a huge issue for me, but it wouldn't stop me from a purchase. |

Hmm...it didn't feel like Totori that much to me, but i do see how you could get that vibe. Both have more of a focus on the adventure side of things than Rorona/Meruru.
Speaking of Totori, i've been playing Totori+ recently here and there. As i suspected, Atelier really works well on handheld - feels really at home on the Vita imo. |

| I think after a while it drifted away from it but that was just my initial impression. Overall I was slightly dissapointed in Ayesha, I didn't like the characters or setting as much as the Arland trilogy. Also I totally messed it up and was ridiculously underlevelled and have absolutely no idea how.
I should be picking up Totori + soon which I'm quite looking forwards to as it's been ages since I've played Totori. |

| i'm just as impressed with Atelier Totori Plus - it's a really solid port. Native resolution (thank you, Gust!), a decent framerate and visuals which have (mostly) remained intact, I'm pleased at the amount of work that's gone into it. Including the Japanese dub too was a nice surprise as well, and this is likely due to its download-only nature (Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus had none, likely as it had to be published on game card and download versions are identical to the game card ones).
Meanwhile, Scamco Tales Studio/Scamco piece together shoddy 'remakes' (i.e. upscaled games running off what looks like the PSP Tales game engine) of DS Tales games, which play atrociously on my Vita.

Meanwhile, Escha & Logy's out in Japan now, and promptly got the joint-highest Famitsu (lolfamitsu, i know) score for an Atelier (or Gust in general, i forget) game ever, a 36/40...it's gonna be a looooong localisation wait... Wasn't bothered about Totori+ being download-only, though I would have loved some preorder goodies like a soundtrack CD or artbook or something if it were physical, but Meruru+ being download-only takes the biscuit for me from a personal point of view. Until Sony sort out tying saves to download games (which Nintendo just did in their latest 3DS system update), I'm probably going to have to buy another memory card. Not spending £12 on the cheapest PS Plus subscription just so I can back up saves of my download games once (I'd have to resubscribe if I wanted to retrieve said save from the cloud), without having to use up 3GB harddisk space. |

| I'm quite enjoying Atelier Meruru, which I never got round to playing on the PS3 a year ago. It seems to have more structure that Totori lacked, meaning I'm actually more familiar with certain items and know my way around the system better than ever. Not too happy about the rigidity of certain events as usual though. Wasted a month of in-game time just because I didn't press X in an area I wasn't able to investigate, so I had to go all the way there and back again to report to Rufus. Cruel! |
