We're only at the 'concept art and music' stage, but given the pedigree behind this, I'm already excited. Also: now we know what Jas will call Metroidvanias from now on!
Also, at this point we don't know what machines it's on. I'm assuming Switch will be there or thereabouts. If it's not obviously I'll shuffle this thread over and weep salty tears.

Explor-action is a cool name actually, I prefer it to Metroidvania for sure.
I'll probbaly dig whatever the Celeste devs do next. Keen!

I actually do really like exploraction now, albeit prefer it without the hyphen like Neil typed it.

Exploraction is a decent name but it does seem like a bit of PR thing because they don't have any actual game play to show off.

That ladders bit is just for The last of us.

Aye, obviously need to see more before forming any proper opinions on this but like you said, solid pedigree behind this one so I'm optimistic.
Also, don't make me dig out that screenshot of Nintendo calling them Metroidvanias again.

I'm gonna go on record to say I'll play whatever this team serves up no questions asked, whatever genre it is I'm in.

It's crazy they switched genres to Sports for the second game.

The actual best thing to come out of the Game Awards. It sure does look like the Celeste team made a Metroidvania, and you know what? That's all I really wanted.

It is a way out, for what's already looking pretty complete. I have faith in this team, but it may or may not be horribly misplaced. It'll be fun finding out though!
