Online Play

So did anyone and does anyone still play any retro or last gen consoles online, I no the xbox no longer connects online i dont no if there any private servers like the cube which still has some for the likes pf phantasy star. I sill connect my dreamcast now and again & surf the net wiith it for a laugh and put in starlancer and see if any one is playing it

I only started playing online with Mario Kart Wii, and even then it took me until December 2009 to work out how to connect my Wii wirelessly to my internet. I've never been into that whole headset scene.

i rarely play online myself, im more of a SP kinda guy as ive heard people moaning bioshock infinite has no MP. Why would you want MP in that game anyway. i was hoping some peeps might of been up for some retro online gaming

My fear is when publishers (like EA) start switching off servers for online games - all that data, lost!

It's a shame a lot of online games and/or modes tend to live or die by their communities. I never did get an online game of Perfect Dark XBLA going just because no one was playing the thing online by the time I got round to purchasing it. Same goes for Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts.

For an online gaming-related rant, Ridge Racer Vita certainly takes the biscuit - but I'll save that for a dedicated thread on that game over at the PS subsection forum.

yeah its weird quake 3 arena on dreamcast still has it server's on after all this time but titles like Lord of the rings Conquest from ea came out a few year's ago I think no longer has its server

It's pretty much a combination of how popular & the expense of running a server which determines if it stays on or not, sequels for games comes into as well which is why we are seeing the MH Tri servers close a month after MH3U's release.
