| Hard fought battle survived by Crump It was a very close game with both sides struggling to put a goal away. A cheeky curveball from the Warriors put the Crumpster on top, but Mas kept the pressure on, launching a late Hyper Strike that the keeper expertly saved. |

| Treesmurf's Train of Pain rolls on It was another thrilling top of the table test for Treesmurf's ragtag team of superstars and they didn't disappoint with a statement win. The match started a lot slower than we're used to with both sides trying to outfox the other, it was none other than starman Luigi Mario who opened the scoring with a curling effort. The Bolts soon doubled their lead when some quick passes set up Rosalina for one of her patented strikes, the two goal lead was short lived though as the Warriors Luigi Macmario placed a perfect shot in the bottom corner. The Bolts soon took it up a level with the only Hyper Striker of the game, Luigi once again from long range with an unstoppable Tornado. Things could have been different from there as Toad set up for a Hyper Strike in reply for the Warriors but just pulled the trigger a little too soon and instead hit the post, the Warriors would go on to hit the post a couple more times before Treesmurf's Bolts got two late goals, another curling strike and one on the rebound to round out the scoring. It was a scoreline that flattered the league leaders but another three points to ensure the 100% record. |

| Smurf made to sweat by plucky Pengers
It was top against bottom which to many would seem like a foregone conclusion but this is the GNamer Strikers League, the most competitive league in the world so Mas wasn't gonna go down without a fight. It was indeed Masofdas who came out swinging with a lead in just 8 seconds, the first time the Bolts have been behind in the league so far. There was no quick reply either, despite Smurf's best efforts he couldn't create any clear chances whilst at the other end Masofdas threatened to double his lead several times. With two minutes gone Smurf finally got the reply when Toad hit a hyper strike that was saved well but they pounced on the rebound to level the scores. You could see the relief for the league leaders but it was short lived as Bowser powered home a strike that saw Masofdas' Warriors regain the lead. This time it didn't take quite so long for the equaliser as Toad skillfully cut inside soon after to make it a Desmond. We were all set for a tense final minute and a half which would see Smurf take the lead for the first time today with a second hyper strike, this time from Luigi whose Tornado couldn't be held on to by the keeper. There was almost another twist in the tale as Peach set up for a hyper strike of her own however a well placed banana skin prevented what could have been a deserved leveller to take it to extra time. |

| What's this? Another midweek tie? Jas back to winning ways after rebranding as the Lucky Charms Overall this was a pretty close game and I actually did have some luck during it, the ball fell a bit kind for me to clear after a mistimed hyper strike from Dusty, my keeper had several great blocks & to top it off DK somehow found himself in the final third and scored with a half charged shot. |

| Very much enjoying reading the back page archives of GNamer in this thread and following along with the league. I'm waiting for someone to topple the mighty Smurf with baited breath. |

| Crumpy's Warriors Keep Battling On! Another tough fought battle with Muss dominating play for the first chunk of the match. Bowser was always keen fire that ball towards the net, but the Warriors Keeper was on top form. The game spilled into extra time and a cheeky lil shot from a good way out of the box hit it home to keep Crumpy's streak going. |

| Looks like we don't need a split in the league afterall, we've already established one. My win over Cappa is the only time someone from the bottom four has beaten anyone from the top four so far. |

| I can't emphasise how close Mas came to beating me though, I said it to him after our match that it was the toughest one yet so I think we'll see less of a split soon. |

| Topping From The BottomIn the Sengoku Period of Medieval Japan, commentators talked a lot about gekokujō, or "the low toppling the high". It was a period of upset in which lower classed samurai could, through martial strength, grow more powerful than those who would outrank them in traditional aristocratic measures. Sunday afternoon saw these battlefields recreated on the field of The Beautiful Game. The Magicians under Summerhayes came out strong, counterattacking from an early Crowns push to score a goal at 1:17. Phillips' Crowns were quick to equalise, and from there the game became a nail-biting affair. Both keepers acquitted themselves admirably, deflecting hyper strikes, but with a minute left on the clock the Magicians knocked the crown right off the head of Ross' boys. After that, they packed the box and it was only a waiting game. The Cappuccino Kid after the game (allegedly)Interviewed after the game, the so-called Cappuccino Kid had this to say about the result: - Quote :
- Ooft, got my arse handed to me there! Well played, looking forward to seeing the comedy headline!
His opposition manager, whose team is now equal on points, was unavailable for comment. Reports of a bald man rampaging like Godzilla through the streets of Tokyo with no shirt and a necktie bandana are unconfirmed, though they wouldn't be surprising for a manager whose team has had more ups and downs than the mountains and valleys of that island nation on which he lives. |
