| GNAMER FORUM SECRET SANTA 2024!! What is ‘Christmas magic’? Is it that feeling of childlike wonder and joy that the holiday period can bring, through traditions like decorating the tree, sharing quality time with family, and sitting by the fireplace? Or, is the magic found through the religious story of Christmas, including the virgin birth, the star of Bethlehem, and the gift-giving to the baby Jesus? In truth, it’s actually neither: the true magic of Christmas is experienced through receiving Boogie on the Wii, sixteen years after it was released.I invite you all to take part in the twelfth annual GNamer Forum Secret Santa! Hopefully our small userbase will feel compelled to join in again this year - we’ve been on a really good run of really good gift-giving these last several years, it’s been very rewarding to be a part of.So, straight into it: we’ll use elfster.com like we’ve done in the past. Hopefully that’ll give you plenty of time to register your involvement, and then to buy and post presents.• Please keep an eye on the Royal Mail’s dates for Christmas delivery. Industrial action for postal services took place on multiple dates in the run-up to the last two Christmases. The latest updates will be provided here: https://www.royalmail.com/latest-news . It would be very disappointing for anybody to miss out on their GNamer gift on December 25th.• No matter how early your present arrives, please hold off on opening them/posting about it until December 25th. When you can, please post pictures of what you got, and your gratitude/appreciation.• Let’s stick to a limit of £15, not including postage. I don’t think there’s any harm in going slightly over or slightly under the budget, but please don’t go too far over or (worse) too far under.• Try and avoid emailing download codes if your geographical/personal/health circumstances allow you to. Ideally the gift(s) you send and receive should be physical, tangible things, it’s just better that way. There’ll be no vouchers for Blockbuster or sponsoring a cat in Papua New Guinea to be your recipients penpal or any of that bollocks though.• Once names are dished out, please don’t post about the buying and sending of presents in the thread. That spoils it a bit - it’s easy to work out who you’re receiving a gift from that way.• You can post if you receive your package, that’s no bother. It's helpful if you can message me when you post it too, either on here or through the Discord.• If you say you're taking part and then fail to post out a present, you’ll be on Santa’s naughty list…unless there’s a good reason, of course.• There’s a Wishlist you can use too, if you’re wanting to help guide your Secret Santa. I trust that we should all know each other well enough to pick thoughtful and/or good quality presents, but a steer in the right direction probably won’t hurt.

| Oh bugger I completely forgot to actually register on the damn site!  I'm really sorry gents, November is always manic for me and actually pressing yes to the draw skipped my mind. Absolutely biffed it. If Ross would like to allocate me a random person to get a gift for I'm happy to do that and not get one in return, otherwise I'll shut up until the gifts are given and regret my choices. I don't deserve to get anything but I'm happy to contribute to the spirit. |
