I say: I give my opinion of the Guitar Hero series further down. As for Metallica, I prefer rock to pop, but have no special love for the band. This actually got the same number of points as the fourth rank, but lacked the first place that would have made the tie...

I say: Let's sweat, everyone! Like most people here, I never would have bought this myself, and I wasn't lucky enough to come across it at a party, so I've missed it. For the sake of my eyes, I think it may stay that way. Good to know that there was some fun behind its interminable stay at the top of the charts, though.

I say: Get Castle on the 'phone/in the thread! With Red Steel having come third in Week 3, and now this, he is somewhat vindicated. Never played it, because... I don't know, really. Might have a shot at nupkin's copy.

The Wii remote slotting into the guitar itself was pretty genius, as the Wiimote's accelerometer was far better IMO than the older GH guitars. The soundtrack to this game shaped my music taste I reckon. From School's Out by Alice Cooper, Knights of Cydonia by Muse, pretty sure the Killers make an appearance, Ruby by the Kaiser Chiefs, One by Metallica... I could wax lyrical (unintentional pun, honest) about the music in this for hours, which considering this is a music game shows they did something very very right. It was my first foray into online Guitar Hero as well, and I still recall getting my arse handed to me by numerous NGamer Forumites. A cracker of a game, and my personal favourite in the GH franchise."

I say: And we arrive at my two votes for this week! I only ever played this at... I won't say "friends'". "Acquaintances'", maybe. As such, I never got very good at it, with my crowning achievement being scraping past Cliffs of Dover on Medium; but I enjoyed it enough to give it a third place vote. The peripheral is great fun for those of us who don't play guitar, and the gameplay is simple enough and success or failure easy to determine. A franchise I enjoy, then, albeit not enough to buy. I'm waiting for Classical Hero before I shell out!

I say: Monkeys (in shades) power Big Ben's clock. A samurai duels shadow beasts in pursuit of a soft toy. A mandrill's hair grows to a ridiculous extent. And those things in Donk-Donk... do whatever it is they do. While not a flawless package (see the dishonourable mentions; also Love (c)Rap, and that widget one), any flaws quickly pale into insignificance when put up against the madcap fun of the rest of the game. It's impossible to sum it up in one picture, to be honest. My first place, several other people's, and the uncontested winner of this week. If you don't enjoy this, you don't enjoy fun.
