There are all sorts of hilarious GOTY comments on Twitter about this - the Teddy bear Tamagotchi game Nintendo are releasing on 3DS in July. We're clearly not the target audience but it could sell a few units...

I would want it for NX and like I said those sort of games would be the third support for NX, so yeah you won't get KH3 but you get BT instead.

Nice that was the DQ, I was waiting for on 3DS only issue is the date when a bunch of RPGS and other Japanese goodness comes to PS4. I can only buy so much.

I've heard that 8 is better than 7 and I'm coming towards the end of 7(plus I've got a lot of time for it over the next week with flights to and from Dublin & 3 nights in a hotel), so I think I may have to grab this one!

After VII, I'm... going to read some reviews before I pick up DQVIII. If the start isn't at least 1 Mach faster I don't think it'll be for me.

It's basically a straight port of the PS2 original and that was number 39 on IGN's 100 best PS2 Games of All-Time an the review had this as the final verdict.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King may not be the most original RPG on the block, but it doesn't have to be -- it does the standard stuff so well that it doesn't feel so standard anymore. To be totally upfront, I haven¿t played an RPG all year that's had me this excited to see what happens next as Dragon Quest VIII has... even if I could figure out what that "next" was probably going to be.

If anything, this goes to show you that you don't always have to do something revolutionary to be great. As long as you capture what's most important (re: being fun) that's all that really matters. Dragon Quest VIII does just that, and it does so with a sense of humor, an excellent style, and enough gameplay to last you more than a hundred entertaining hours. RPG of the year? Most definitely.

That was 2005, and has a score of 90.05% where the one which just came out original game on PS1 is a 80.54 on game rankings. Is why I left DQVII and waited for DQVIII just a shame when it comes out.

'Best RPG of 2005' may not mean that the game is awesome in 2016... oh, who am I kidding? I'll be getting in on this from day one come what may.

I've always heard DQVIII mentioned as one of the series' very best, so I'm looking at this with interest.

Yeah I'm a bit sceptical as well with 8 after barely starting 7 and giving up rather quickly

HAL realise that calling the third game BOXBOXBOXBOY! would have been taking the mick. Interested in the game itself but a Qbby amiibo seems a bit much.

I don't mind the amiibo & I'd be well up for getting this triple pack retail version since I never did pick up the sequel.

I'm quite keen myself, but that name sounds a bit ominous. Goodbye?
