That's Metacritic, mind. Any Tom, Dick - emphasis on Dick - or Harry can have their review wind up on Metacritic. Some of the reviews I've seen that have been referenced on Metacritic wouldn't cut it on an internet forum.

Not such a bad launch line-up for the One, really (if nothing of interest for me). Skylanders aside, though, there's absolutely no reason for a family gamer to pick one up over a Wii U (and I'm pretty certain the Wii U version of Swap Force will be more polished).

There all critics scores TCK, not user's so only likes of IGN, Eurogamer, Edge etc. But some might be lesser reviewers but that is there opinion if someone want's give X game a 10 and everyone else a 6 or vice-versa so be it.
Yeah Stu not so kid or family as when I was in GAME getting my Zelda the guy behind me was really annoyed LEGO got delayed as it was the only game his kid could play on it due to age. So he was moaning that his son wouldn't have anything to play on his new console, i think the guy GAME sold him Zoo Tycoon poor kid getting that.
I think problem is launch is always going to be more mature content as early adopters whom can afford a xbone at launch are going to be mature.

I can't imagine too many launch adopters being in that position, as you say.

Really, any way I see in your PS4 post you want jap developed games.
Good news Microsoft are rumored to have signed up a load of studios to help them crack the Japanese market. I just can't see the Xbox one doing well over there, the 360 didn't and Microsoft tried with that by having likes of blue dragon.

Nobody's talking about the XBox One anymore. It's all about the Nintendo 64.

ASDA have a extra £20 off online meaning you can get a xbox one for £380 using a code, but I can also get my colleague discount on top meaning I can get one for £342. I'm really tempted, annoyed the colleague discount doesn't come of the £400 instead of the £380 but whats £2 difference and I could get a game like forza 5 for £38 or PVZ for £22.50 at the moment on there. So a Xbone & PVZ would be £364.50 which seems a bargain. Dam needing to change car and money for that.

The Xbox thread is all mine
So I've had my xbox one for a few day's now and just wanted to post my thoughts.
The UI, before getting it was hearing that it's a pain to use especially without kinect . I've got my kinect plugged in but barely used it as it is fine using the controller to navigated the UI even though some things are in a weird place like achievements and that there's a app to play blu rays which have to go find. Compared to the PS4 & Wii U it is the worst of the three. PS4 wins for me as everything is just so easy to use.
The feel, I did tweet about this and Fronk replied as i got emails but twitter never showed them. Anyway the system it self feels cheap, when I took it out of the box to set up I thought it was going to be heavy due to the size but nope it's really light, then it feels cheap the plastic of the venting at the top, the front where you put the disc, just everything about it but then the kinect feels really well made and where the cost seems to be but overall never worth the original price. The PS4 feels slightly better made still plastice feel but slightly more robust, I would say the Wii U feels the best made of the three. Wii U wins
The controller, this is a weird one as last gen I hated the DS3 & not the biggest fan of the wiimote but this gen all 3(4) pads seem really good. The xbox one pad is just another evolution of the xbox's s-type, the rumble in the triggers are great for forza & reckon they'll be great for shooters. I have heard people saying that the bumpers are a bit naff but I've not had a problem. The only one thing I can find wrong is the d-pad. Also it feels cheap again, there's weight there but I feel if I were to drop it could break. I don't feel that with the PS4 pad or the the Wii U's gamepad even with it's screen. You might see the that (4) well there is another controller which is official and that's the Wii U's pro controller which I think is the best of the 4, I've only used it for the likes of COD and NFS as most games have something on the screen which could be useful but when I have used it's been excellent and it has 80hrs battery and feels the best made. Wii U Pro Wins
The games, at the moment it's pretty much the same line up as the PS4 but not quite as good eg 1080p thief on PS4 900p on xbox one. But anyway what I have played plant's vs zombies: garden warfare, forza 5, killer instinct all play fine and look decent but none set the world on fire even forza which is suppose to be the graphics showpiece. I am looking forward to a few games on it such Titanfall, Fable, Halo, Quantum but it hasn't got the best line up of exclusive games coming that is something Wii U has even though there few & far between. Wii U wins
The Social, aspect's of the Xbox One are okay but feel like the achievements hidden away. You have to go to friends to then get a list of things people have done/doing, to record anything you have to talk to your xbox or set it up before you start. It's okay but nothing I would really use. The other two on the other hand is a a different story, miiverse is great and that it has dedicate groups for game but agian it's something you have to go find. Well with the PS4 it's all there on the main screen I can see what everyone is doing/done, it's easy to share because of the share button. PS4 wins because it's seem the easiest to be social with.
The Apps, all three have netflix etc and they all do the same job. I've not noticed anything different between the three part from the PS4 & Xbox One has there own music & video services which the Wii U doesn't. PS4 & Xbox One tie. The Extras, The Xbox One has a rather big extra in kinect. I've not really used it apart from the odd voice command, I can't see me jumping around my room playing just dance with it. So it's just for the voice commands which I'm hoping are impermanent into dragon age 3 for instance apart from that there isn't any real standout feature well apart from smartglass which is all right. I have found one problem games install to the HDD and they take for ever to do so. The PS4 seems to have no real extra's out of the box, the touchpad on the controller is barely used in anything, the camera is extra and is pretty much only on par with kinect 1.0, and the smartphone app doesn't do much apart from tell you who's online. But there is a few cool thing's which are mainly social driven like the forthcoming interactive streaming and there is the compatibility with the VITA but that's more on top again. The Wii U has the biggest and most noticeable extra with the gamepad which can of course change how game's are played. Wii U wins because it's extra is the only one to make a real difference to a game.
So the PS4 has 3, Xbox One has 1, Wii U has 4. Wii U Wins
Final Thoughts on the Xbox One, I can see why it's sold fairly well and why it will sell to like's of some of my friends whom have now got used to the xbox brand over the last 8 years with 360 and is where there friends will be playing the likes of COD, FIFA and using the apps such as Netflix. It is very much a system meant to cater for everyone it will get the likes of MGSV, Batman and the midcore gamer will think they look great and will have a great time playing them if the get of FIFA. There is a few problems lack of backward compatibility and MS not seeming to want to get any sort of BC on the system, stupid achievements for watching netflix, slow to install games, no 3D support not now or the future same goes for 4k. So is it worth buying well, not for the original price and even now at £399.99 it's hard to recommend over the PS4 or Wii U .[/b]

£349 for an Xbox One + Titanfall at ASDA Direct and Amazon
That really is a good price, especially when you get Kinect (good if you're going to use the One for media purposes, I won't be though) with it. Just a shame next-gen (Wii U and indie aside) is so unappealing right now, really. When a game like Infamous can sell 1 million in 9 days, when it wouldn't have last generation you just know people are buying into hype.

But infamous is really good though and there are lot of ps4 owner's and we need something to play. I don't know how well 1 & 2 did on ps3 but neither looked as appealing as second son.
That is a good price for the xbone but still wouldn't recommend getting one over a ps4.

Still to expensive, as we've had it at the price all ready and that's the same price as a PS4. It should be less without a kinect and how much is a kinect on its own now then.

I might pick one of these up in 2015, I'm surprised there are currently more niche Japanese games in development for it than PS4, at least from those announced. But the exclusives are what's more interesting as well as the general platform: I've always been interested in the media/apps from the beginning, really.

I can't see many good jap games there apart from D4 then the PS4 has some stuff from compile heart etc coming for it. TGS will be the best place to see from the jap devs which is near the One's jap launch which doesn't look that great for that market but could be a great time for them to get that audience excited for it.
I've sold my one due to lack of exclusives that really interest me apart from the one's that I've put inbold and not all of them I'm really bothered about eg Forza Horizon 2.
The apps don't bother me as to me it's a game's console and most are on the PS4 as well if I really want to use them.
I will likely buy another ONE when Halo 5 or Scalebound comes out depends on what's first and the rest of the library & price is decent.

Neither PS4/Xbox One (or, dare I say it, Wii U) has much going for the Japanese market right now, just that Xbox One has more niche (not mass market) games, like what the 360 had.
And for a list of developers: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/04/23/atlus-nippon-ichi-software-japanese-companies-xbox-one-developers/
Scalebound, Phantom Dust and D4 are the main ones from higher profile Japanese developers.
Apparently the XBO was doing fairly well in pre-orders, but I wouldn't read too much into that.

When was Ubisoft & some others Japanese, the list of devs in the last link.
Yeah the 360 did get some niche games over there and did have some good sales weeks when likes of Blue Dragon got released but I can't see the ONE doing much over there. But like you said none of the consoles are doing great it's all about the handheld in that market.

Yeah, a small portion of those developers are western, I'd assume they are those publishing games for Japan. My point was of course that there are more actual games from Japan announced for Xbox One, whereas on PS4 we only know of a tiny amount. Hopefully TGS will change this, though, as you mention.

This hasn't been used for a while, might just because only Drunka & Andy has a ONE and there never seems to be much Xbox News.
But anyway just seen Neverwinter is coming to the ONE, I didn't know this and is in a BETA at the moment.
Either of you got into the BETA or anyone know much about it, it could be something great on the ONE a F2P MMO.
Also I'm getting more tempted to pick up a ONE again soon as prices have come down to £350 with Halo MCC, Evolve and a download of Sunset Overdrive in GAME. I would trade in Evolve right away and pick up Horizon 2, the console would be white though but that's a few good games now on the system that I can't get else where also Ori is early march.
And Tesco has a Xbox One with Forza 5 download & Evolve (Which I would trade in for Halo MCC) for £300 but runs out on the 27th which is the day I get my bonus, so likely to miss out on this but they might have another deal after. I do need have look what deals work has as well, but the ASDA website is now shite. Also Argos has some good ones, I think this a good time for me to buy a ONE again now as even though I want one for Halo 5 mainly but there's so many games coming in the holiday that I doubt I could afford a console along with all those dam games that will come out around then.
Plus I get my bonus soon at work and selling my Old 3DS XL on eBay that I've got the money as well to pick up a ONE without really touching any of my actual money.
Is there any other games I should checkout on the ONE which are out there Halo MCC Sunset Overdrive Horizon 2 Which I've mentioned
KI I would redownload D4 I want to play
But that's it in till Below, Crackdown, Fable Legends, Gears of War 4, Halo 5, Inside, Ori, Phantom Dust, Quantum Break, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Scalebound, Smite, State of Decay
All come out, so is there any good indies / downloads on the ONE at the moment as I never hear people talk about them like I do with the Wii U & PS4.
