Not An FPS

Thought I'd pimp one of my side projects. Some of you on The Twitter may have already seen it and rejected it, but here goes anyway:

Bored of hearing tedious and frankly false arguments about there being too many shooting games out and generally using first person shooters to illegitimise [vast swathes of] games, I started a blog showcasing exactly how many games there were out that aren't in that mould, and how well-catered for you are if you want to avoid FPSes.

Then forgot about it for two years and saw another argument on the same matter and started it again.

I updated again today with DKR 3D, and update on Mondays with a new title.

Feedback and waving it at your friends welcomed.

Just read the last page (after forgetting about it when no one replied to the thread ). You write well! Although it's telling that all the non-FPSes, even the rubbish ones, are handheld games. And mostly 3DS titles.

It's a real shame that LM2 came out during your "off period", as I'm sure Spork will agree. That aside, good stuff!

I'm putting it down to being early summer. *looks out of window* ...allegedly.

The fifteen games I covered on my first run in 2011 (slightly later in summer) only has two handheld exclusives, and all told there's been very few big console/PC releases of any stripe in the six weeks I've been updating in this run, and as well as the more formal rules I've set myself in the selection process obviously my own biases are going to come to the fore- this isn't Proper Journalism nor is it meant to be. It's a very slowly compiled list with occasional jokes.

And thanks for the comment on the writing- I think it's working because it combines two of my favourite things- videogames and talking to myself.

The irony is, it's the sixteenth update the site has had in this run, and the first run only had fifteen posts. Spooky.
