The gameplay trailer is here. If they pull off all they've shown in the trailer, I see no reason why this won't be game of the year. Looks absolutely brilliant.

I've never been a fan of GTA (played most of them) and personally think its over rated. And was up to the that trailer not bothered about this at all, but if they can do all that well as previously in my eyes they've done a lot but not well eg combat, driving and more importantly story which rockstar got right in red dead redemption, so if they learnt a lot from that then I will be happy. But then again when will i have such time to play a game like this which will be going in November towards PS4. As for GOTY that's hard with likes of bioshock infinite and last of us this year.

This looks brilliant, I'm really pleased with how fluid the combat/driving/flying looks.
Speculation time: The little snippet of online play at the end makes it look like you will have your own house/mansion/penthouse, maybe there could be a hierarchy system basically where you fight for control of the city?

From what I've seen of Bioshock Infinite I wouldn't put it in GoTY area. And GTA IV had a great story, so that'll continue on here. It seems like GTA V will be like a Rockstar "best-of" of sorts - some mechanics from each of their titles are appearing here: weapon wheel from Red Dead, driing from Midnight Club, shooting from Max Payne 3, even a tennis minigame from Rockstar Table Tennis. I'm excited.
Jas: That'd be great - no idea how they'd implement it though. Did you notice each character had stats? Reckon they're bringing back the RPG-lite system from San Andreas?

Pre-ordered immediately after watching that video, can't believe I didn't do sooner, looks like an absolute stonker, hard to believe this is on a current gen console, clearly the next gen isn't all that necessary just yet.

Bioshock infinite is the 2nd highest rated game of the year so far, so I it will get considered for GOTY on major site's. Personally it's fire emblem awakening at the moment but could change. I didn't like the story on number 4 or any GTA but like said looks good, so willing to give it a chance. Yeah footage was from the PS3 version and looking good.

I reckon Rockstar will have more to play with storywise with three characters, and RDR proved they can write a gripping story, so not worried on that front.
It really does show we're reaching the glass ceiling of gaming if this is what's possible on current gen consoles. Looked beautiful and massive.

@masofdas
It was already confirmed on the GTA V 'o clock youtube channel that each character will have stats that you can improve on.

It looks like I was technically right so excited for this game now, I'll the the one messing up people's bank heists for my own gain.

It's a brilliantly ambitious online mode, and if it's as advertised then I think GTA V will be GOTY without a doubt.

Sounds like fairly standard GTA fare. Wonder how Oz will react to it.

We actually seem to like it.
But the stupid thing is with Saints Row 4 again, GTA V got an R rating for drugs and what not ( being the standard GTA game) and yet Saints Row got banned originally for the same thing and got edited out so it could be released here with a fricken MA rating not the R.
And from what I've heard from people who have imported it and have done the mission that got the gem banned it wasn't that bad a thing

For someone who has played all the GTAs apart from chinatown, I've not liked any. But loving V I don't no why I'm liking this one.

Passing a rusty sword and then cleaning yourself with a bidet that shoots out vinegar.

As good as the wanted system is in this I still wish they allowed you to ram the cops off the road to drop a star like in Chinatown wars.

I've been ramming them anyway mainly as they start it.
It's also kinda fun punching people on top of the mountain where the cable cars are and watching them roll down the slope
