| It was on its last legs, bless it, but on Saturday I finally had to lay my iPhone 3G to rest. I've dropped it precisely two times since 2008, and the second time was the last straw: screen failure. Besides that, I've not been able to turn the device off for well over two years now, as the power button ceased to work, the volume rocker fell off in 2009, and the headphone jack has only worked intermittently since 2011. Also, somehow mysteriously copious amounts of dust have nestled their way under the screen.
So it looks like I'll be investing in a fifth generation iPod Touch (32GB) this week. Literally the last iOS game I played was the original Plants Vs. Zombies, so I'll be looking at catching up a wee bit. Anyone have any suggestions?
Current games on the list:
Plants Vs. Zombies 2 Year Walk Smurfs' Village Simpsons: Tapped Out.
And yes, I'm aware that two of those games are a bit shit and involve microtransactions which I most certainly shall not be participating in. |

| Tapped out isn't bad but not great, but PvZ2 is really fun even if I have to buy the frozen pea plant which I used a lot in the first game |

| I'd recommend The Walking Dead wholly, a fully fleshed out story-driven experience. Super Hexagon is hard as nails but fantastic as well. |

| Great choice on Year walk, so I'll have to suggest Simogo's Beat sneak bandit as its just a fun rhythm game. |

| Personally I wouldn't recommend TWD on that tiny ass screen. Though I doubt he'd ever play it on the PS3 anyway Maybe the Vita version when it's out. |

I have Beat Sneak Bandit, and shockingly for me, I didn't get into it. Might have to give it another go on a snazzier device. Has anyone tried Tiny Thief? Eurogamer were fawning over it this morning, and the reviews have been excellent: http://www.metacritic.com/game/ios/tiny-thief Thanks for the suggestions thus far, chaps. @shanks: I can't believe you have to pay for Frozen Pea! It's always been my favourite and most useful PVZ plant. PVZ2 isn't actually out here yet, incidentally. D: |

| And the worst part is that it's $2.99.
You also have to buy the squash and the jalapeno, which aren't so bad as didn't really use them but still they are kinda handy if needed |

| Super Hexagon is seconded. Such a simple idea but both fun and hard. |

| Must give that one a spin! I whiled away twenty minuted or so on Sonic Dash this evening. Utterly pointless, but a fun enough autorunner in short bursts. Do we have Game Center IDs, by the way? Mine's Stu_Dee_Jay. |

| Don't worry, Jay! I feel like a filthy troglodyte for crawling back to iOS after a three-year absence. |

| Your poor phone... I've been playing Rayman Jungle Run, and it's pretty fun. I'd recommend it if you've enjoyed any previous Rayman games. It starts off easy, but it ramps up and can be challenging in the Land of the Dead levels. |

| I'll add you next time I'm online, shanks!
As for Jungle Run: I must get that. I attempted the Windows 8 version, but the mouse controls were utter gash. Tapping seems much more suited to what I played. |

| Stu, did you end up getting Simpsons: Tapped Out? If so, what's your Origin account name? |

| My Origin account name (originally) is Stu_Dee_Jay. Looking forward to adding you, Jay. If I'm being brutally honest, I'm enjoying Tapped Out! less than Smurfs' Village, but they're both still nice enough time-wasters. |

| Ah, missed this! Adding you now Stu. Yeah, Tapped Out is a decent enough timewaster - I ordinarily wouldn't play these sort of games, but The Simpsons setting is nice enough to get me to stick around. |

| Do we have to add each-other, Jay? I booted the game up this morning and saw no indication that I'd had a friend request (or however it works in this 'ere game). |
