| I know several of us here in the good ship GNamer have dabbled in a bit of writing on the Internet, so I figured we could have a thread like this in order to share all our scribings, be they games-related or otherwise. I'll kick us off shamelessly with a piece trying to convert people to watching Breaking Bad who haven't already. So, all four of you out there. I'm looking forward to reading what you guys have been writing! |

| I've had a go at bit's on sites like Honest Game Reviews and Tumbler which i have used as a blog.
But I'm happy coming here do things like the month's release's, keeping the eShop thread's up to date with what's out and starting what might be come a popular thread in the agents of the shield.
Also I have my twitter (competition running at the moment) and now YouTube channel, that people like Ibbsters & Xelviar from twitter knew me when i went to his town and even this weekend at a streetpass event someone went your masofdas. |

| Well, when I'm not reading NotAnFPS (Jimbob's Shill Factor Went Up by 1!) I bundle loads of half-arsed ideas into I'm probably writing this for me, and not for you which I thought was a hillarious title at the time - most articles are subtitled "Part 1". Currently trying to come up with the stupidest ideas for quirky indie games. Quite pleased with Space Presser. |

| NotAnFPS is fun to read, on the whole. I enjoyed the background to Frog Road Crossing Simulator, although I've yet to play it. (Should probably listen to those tracks, as a composer myself.) And I'm still not watching Breaking Bad. When I'm not writing really silly stuff for my own benefit (read: based on characters from a cuddly toy game I used to play with my sister), I... don't really write much any more. For the one big thing I wrote (and I mean really big), details can be found in this thread. Disclaimer: I no longer claim that any of its writing is worth a damn, apart from maybe the Captain Falcon chapter and the battle with Tabuu. Outside fora, I tend to write more music than words. |

| Sorry, double post, but I am actually going to do some more writing. Anybody else heard of, or indeed tried, NaNoWriMo? Basically, you attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. It's tough, but with November's videogames pushed back to Christmas, and Pokémon hopefully mostly enjoyed by then, I'm optimistic of my chances of getting it done! |

| Ah yeah, heard about this. I want to try it, but it's a hell of an undertaking and with uni essays in that month I don't reckon I'd get it done. Still, even if I don't hit the 50,000 words it'll mean I have a novel started. I'll see. |

| I've been working on a new novel for a while, but maybe if other people were writing along with me I might get my arse in gear... When I've finished a first draft I'd love for a couple of you guys to give it a read, anyway. It's a fantasy comedy about a human rights lawyer called The People Versus Xanzar the Soulflayer. I'm pretty chuffed with what I've done so far but I'm rubbish at getting on with it. |

| I will happily read your fantasy comedy, Busk! Apart from anything else, "fantasy comedy" for me says "Sir Terry Pratchett", and there are few men whose work I love (and whose writing style I advertently or inadvertently imitate) more. |

I've barely read any Pratchett but the few people who've read my stuff said it was a similar sense of humour. |

| I did two NaNoWriMos and I will not do anymore. Far too time consuming at around the time plenty of ace games are coming out. |

| *exhales in the manner of a mechanic suggesting that this might be a big job*
1) Set daily goals and try to beat them. 2) Be prepared to have catch-up days where you do nothing else but type gibberish. 3) No editing. 4) Go to at least one of the local meetings with other people who are doing it. They're fun, and not many other people will know what you're going through (my last one was seven years ago).
Good luck to you.
And no links to my 'works' are possible. I deleted the only copies of both about four years ago, I'm afraid! |

Yeah, that's the tip I was expecting to see the most. One thing that discourages me for going for the NaNoWriMo is that the end result will be very very messy. I like to edit as I go when writing. |

| To be fair, no editing is (I think) part of the rules of the game (sorry) anyway. It can be fun but it can equally be a right pain. I expect your contributions here to go through the floor during the month of November, Balla, because it is all-consuming. |

| So, for longer than I can count, I've been trying to write a novel. And... errm... I'm still writing. And its now a trilogy. And its way, way too long. And what makes it more complicated is that Time Travel is heavily involved. Trying to keep track of everything is a problem. In a normal story, you go: Event A to Event B to Event C, but in my book where jumping about in time is commonplace, you frequently see Event C before A and B. I have a huge database trying to make sense of it all. |

| Heard of MS Paint Adventures? Or its main comic, Homestuck? Very timey-wimey; very confusing. Having (tried to) keep up with reading that, good luck... Three days until NaNoWriMo starts! My awkward swordsman with an artificial arm is almost ready to travel across the desert. Race you to the finish, Axis? |

| I fixed my laptop! Kind of. Well, I got an old laptop with a smashed screen and a wire to run it through my tv. But long story short, I'm back at work on my novel! Race you two? Then we can all read each other's at the end! |

| (cracks knucles) BRING IT.
...unless you intend to finish your novel prior to 30th November. In which case, don't bring it. Leave it somewhere far away. |

| To be fair, finishing by November 30th would indeed be bringing it . . . I'm notoriously slow thorough with this sort of thing. |

| LOL... I very much doubt it will be finished this year. The trouble with writing about the future is technology keeps getting more impressive, so i have to adjust |

| Six thousand words down, only 44 thousand to go! Most of the technology in my novel is steampunk, combined with crystals that essentially do everything. Sunday EDIT: 10k down. This is easy! |

| If we're talking word counts, I'm at just over 30,000 and I've finished eight chapters out of a planned thirty-six. I'm in the zone at the moment though so I'm writing a couple of chapters a day. |
