Lots of noise is being made about the Wii U version right now, but - perhaps undeservedly so - less racket is being made about the upcoming 3DS version. Let's not forget that it's being made by Dimps, which has the DS outings under its belt. Anyone looking forward to this?

If it's a different game altogether (like Generations 3DS is to Generations PS3/360), then I could see myself getting this later. To be honest, I'd completely forgotten about this!

There will be format-exclusive levels according to the trailer, but this time round it seems like they're using the power of the 3DS to make the experience close to the Wii U version:

It certainly looks pretty, so I'll be keeping an eye on the reviews for this one. Dimps hasn't let us down yet.

I played the demo of this today, and I enjoyed it so much that I marched out and spent some of my Christmas money on the full package. Cannot wait to get started on it.

Looks like it's just us, Stu!

~

I was quite impressed by the 3DS demo too, yet strangely I've not come across a single copy of this any shop I've been. I'd earmarked some of my GAME credit going towards this, but I've seen exactly zero copies there. A bit odd.

Let us know how you get on with it Stu!

I've seen it in mine- although to be fair Game is a sod for displaying its Nintendo stuff.

I don't recall seeing a physical copy now that you mention it, but then again I don't walk into a game shop from one month to the next these days.

Interestingly, Argos has the game listed as 'Sonic Reboot'. When I handed the guy the catalogue number at the till, that's the name he repeated back to me, and the same name was listed on the till receipt. How odd!

I haven't been this torn about a game this handheld generation. DiMPS/Sonic Team are on the cusp of handheld Sonic perfection. There are brief flashes of the utterly sublime in this game, and I've never seen a prettier portable Sonic, but sadly the nuggets of gold are interspersed with dollops of bum nuggets.

Some of these levels are marathons thus far (I'm about halfway through the game), which somewhat flies in the face of the still-present ranking system. I'm completely compelled to see what the remaining four worlds have to offer.

I thought the demo was jobbies. Couldn't get along with the perspective.
