| So I'm sure you've all heard by now that dirty dog has announced a new Uncharted for the PS4. Which I'm sure as people said on ign it would be a given so are we over the series? Are we excited for it?
For me I love the series and can't wait for it. ( Or April or May when I will get my console) |

| *Naughty Dog, I'm currently watching the access thing at the moment. But Uncharted is a great series, so to me just the PS4 better if it's getting it. |

| I'd question if they'd miss having a game in 2014 now that they're split into 2 teams. They've certainly had plenty of time since Uncharted 2 to get something out in 2014. It'd be nice to see it around next Christmas. |

| I would imagine this will be late next year, if so that's when I'll likely be getting a PS4, the only other exclusive that actually appeals to me at the moment is inFamous but I wouldn't buy a PS4 just for that. |

| I'm quite disappointed they decided to do another uncharted not that I don't like the series (because I do) but I was more interested in the rumoured sci fi/space game they were meant to be working on.

| I think there's still a good chance that the TLOU team are working on that. At least in the very early stages amid the dlc. |

| Be nice to see it next year maybe November and The Order 1866 could be October. You would think Sony would want a big game around the time, especially if Halo 5 comes out on Xbox One. |

| Was a little underwhelmed by the announcement, truth be told. As much as I enjoy playing Uncharted, the lack of depth to the overall experience (they are pretty much the ultimate movie game) leaves me not wanting to play another one.
Of course, Naughty Dog may overhaul the Uncharted formula, so I guess we'll have to see. |

| Isn't that the appeal of the game though? To see where the story will go next and what's going to happen along the way, I could happily play an Uncharted game every year as long as they keep the great stories, characters and stand out moments coming. |

| I have only played U1 & 2, but have grown to detest the franchise. It's a series where you're meant to be a somewhat dickish Indiana Jones, but you come off as a bit mass murdery. Sure, sure, there are badies and they're shooting at you, but you can view your kill count in the menu and it gets stupidly high by the conclusion. Not being a huge fan of the shooty bits in those games anyway, the realisation that I'm actually playing as a super soldier kind of ruined the whole vibe for me.
The actual temple stuff with those signature blockbuster like stunt sequences are really cool, but to me it seemed like they didn't have the courage to go with really interesting puzzles and kick-ass platforming, and instead shoehorned in hundreds upon hundreds of goons for you to kill.

| I really enjoy the shooting in Uncharted so I'm definitely glad it's there, but yeah the kill count is a bit silly. I tend to just treat it like a fun actiony romp rather than anything near realistic. |

| That could be said for any game, take the Tomb Raider reboot about half-way through she turn from Terminator 1 Sarah Connor to Terminator 2 Sarah Connor. |

| Which is why I dislike a lot of action games. Nathan Drake is meant to be a loveable rogue, and while the dialogue is all fun and games, he's a stone cold killer on a mass scale. Some won't care and will just enjoy the game because they like it mechanically, which is fine, but if a game wants me to buy into its world and characters then is it so much to ask to make the gameplay a match for it?
Kratos, that's fine - he's an angry God Snake, that's fine - he tries not to kill en mass and he's a super soldier anyway Nathan Drake - No
Lets be real here, Rocksteady did a better job of capturing Batman through plot & gameplay than Naughty Dog have done with their own character. |

| Yeah as Batman doesn't kill people but beats them to a pulp which likely most would of died from.
See I really like the characters in Uncharted, especially Elena who was a realistic female for once. |

See I really like the characters in Uncharted, especially Elena who was a realistic female for once. Well yeah, you're Batman, that's what Batman does. Granted, not in every iteration, but certainly he takes his violence pretty brutally far in some. He's not so bad for it in Asylum or City to be honest, in Knight? Well, he's having the shittest Knight of his life (as Batman), and he's made some really poor mistakes. He's pissed, of course he's going to take that out on goons. Are some of the animations, and especially environmental takedowns, taking it too far? Yes. But at least the game ham-fistedly goes out of its way to point out they're not dead. For the most part, beating people up in AK, even if too visceral, captures what Batman would be doing in between finding clues and sneaking. Can you honestly say the same for Nathan Drake, an archaeologist with a kill count that would make Rambo jealous? I agree, the side characters in Uncharted are good, but a big part of that they don't break their character for the sake of gameplay mechanics. Which brings me back to my central problem, the game uses the wrong genre. It didn't have to be so action based, it could have been more puzzle based in addition to its excellent platforming, with shootouts saved for when they actually make sense. If you're going to put characters into something, make it cohesive with your gameplay, otherwise don't bother trying to make me care about them. |
