Now onto my question....
If you could pick one retro game for a modern reboot, what would it be? |

| Does Crash Bandicoot count? I'm talking Naughty Dog era Crash here, none of the later guff.
Of all the choices, even I can't believe I went for that one. |

| Indeed it does counts & you will have to live with decision for all of enternity. My retro reboot would be streets of rage & it'd be made my platinum games. |

| Manic Miner. Definitely. The GBA reboot was ok but think of how surreal it could get on a PS4...... |

| Haven't we got this thread all ready in general section.
Which I put Clock Tower, Dino Crisis and the Whole Survival Horror Genre which looks like Evil Within will cover that. |

| It's halfway down the second page. I think Jas can be forgiven. (My rule of thumb is, if the last post in a thread was more than three months ago or is on the front page, use it. The last one in that thread was nine months ago.)
Anyway, can't remember what I put then, but I've been banging on about Ice Climbers for a while now in various threads and will continue to do so. The idea of exploring massive continuous peaks of varying types in HD makes me salivate a little. |

| Also I hope this sees the light of day, on the subject of survival horrors as it's the spiritual successor to the last great in the genre. |

| A proper Chibi Robo on Wii U would be fantastic. That's all I can think of for now. |

I've never given up hope that we'll see proper Chibi again some day. I don't think his day is quite done yet. @Jas: WayForward would probably make a decent stab at Streets of Rage. They've tackled Double Dragon already. Not sure they'd be my first choice exactly, though; sometimes they can get the look right but the feel turns out to be a bit soulless. |

Aye sorry about that just felt the retro section deserved a bit of attention I could tweak the question if you like? Also Zombi U says hi ---- @Stu I've really not been a fan of wayforwards recent output (not played ducktales) so the reason I suggested platinum is they know there way around an action game (no one does it better IMO) & they have a really good relationshipwith Sega too. Oh Ice climber is a good shout even if it does infuriate me in NES remix. |

| That's because it's true but as its a new year I won't let this thread be overrun with zombi U talk.
So since I mentioned a dev for mine so if it fits what company would get to make your reboot? |

| This is a tricky question for sure - there's so many great games that deserve to be revived. To name just one is really difficult. I'd have that guy back in a flash. Another game, just like the ones on PSOne and PS2. The most gutting thing on Wii was that (Parappa designer) Masaya Matsuura's Major Minor's Majestic March was utter keech. He had said all along that the immediate future of the Parappa series pinned on that doing well. It's like he made a shite game so he wouldn't have to do another Parappa, the dozy prick. |

| No set rules to this topic so of ye think of other games that should have a reboot then fire away.
Ye know what I'm surprised didn't get a 3d reboot? Secret of mana.
I did find this clever video though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX77o8qsKFU |

I agree with your point of view, at least in part. I think WayForward's problem at the moment is having its finger in an awful lot of pies. Anyhoo, of course I'd love to see a new Samba De Amigo. Y'know, one that's not a piece of shit reboot this time. It's a shame that latency issues have quietened the rhythm action genre down over the last decade or so. How can anyone despise such a colourful game? |

Absolutely gutting that Samba De Amigo wasn't the business on Wii. It seemed like a can't-miss, sure-fire success in the NGamer previews. What a criminal waste. Unbelievable that it succeeded in everything but the core working aspect of the game (maraca shaking). As good as a new Samba De Amigo would be, I'd still prefer PaRappa The Rapper 3 myself. |
