| Wow that does look amazing. If it does turn out to be anything like Ratchet and Clank/Sonic Adventure hybrid it currently looks like we're in for a treat! |

| So, in "sooner than expected" news, it seems that this game might be coming out in May. Same month as Mario Kart. Yeah, good luck with that guys.

Ignore that. Tomy got the date wrong. http://arcadesushi.com/sonic-boom-rushing-our-way-in-may/
To make up for it, here's a spuriously related video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llyiQ4I-mcQ

| Poor Knuckles, to be so cruelly abused. Betting that his redesign won't make it into future Sonic Team Sonic games. |

| I know it makes for the TV series to have more then the four main characters but why a new one, and will she figure in the game which looks a bit like sonic heroes how it plays. |

| I'm guessing we'll see more of this at E3 in a week's time, probably some hands-on impressions. Hoping it's good, as indie games aside, isn't this the only major third party game on the way to Wii U? |

| These now have subtitles
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal on 3DS, both will play different and have different storyline's you'll even be able to play as sticks on the 3DS one. |

| A quick disclaimer: I've made it known that, as a veteran of the early 90s console wars, I'm not a Sonic fan, and probably still hark back to the mindset of "hur dur u suck". But: I could at least see the appeal in the more popular Sonic games - certainly the first few, and, especially now that Sega and Nintendo have found themselves to be allies, I would genuinely like a groundbreakingly-amazing Sonic game to come along, that makes Sonic fans happy; that is the truth. However, I'd be reeeeeeally worried about this game. I've found very few good reports from people who've played test footage so far, and we all had a chuckle at extendo-Knuckles. But my worst concern was from the interview the lead developer/producer/whatever gave in ONM. He didn't directly answer any of the questions asked by ONM; not in a "wait and see *giggle*" way, but a politician trying to make bad statistics sound not-so-bad. There's no "joy" in any of the responses. |

| Same would like genuinely like a groundbreakingly-amazing Sonic game to come along which I was hoping this would be the case seeing Sonic Team/SEGA them selves aren't working on it and the team doing it have a good rep sheet.
But like you said with Nintendo & SEGA being chums, I would love to see Nintendo EAD Tokyo make one. |

| So, it seems this turned out to be bad, and not just from a design standpoint, but it's filled with bugs, framerate issues and general unpolished-y things.
Shame. Reviews haven't gone live either, suggesting Sega haven't sent review code out.
I have a feeling Sega aren't entirely to blame for this. Much like the dreadful Aliens: CM, I have a feeling the developer for this (Big Red Button) took Sega's money and failed to deliver with it.
Then there's Nintendo: the three game Sonic deal has clearly been a bust for them...

| It seemed okay at EGX but could of been the best level I don't no if the deal has been a bust as the 3rd one could be excellent and lost world has sold 250k on U (it's a total of 700k with the 3DS version) that's same amount as W101 and a lot more then some Wii U games. |

| I think Sega have "shrugged" their way through the Nintendo deal. Just checking a few comments back, I stand by my original thoughts that, although I am totally not a Sonic fan, it's not fun kicking the dude when he's down, and it would be nice that, after all this time, and with a Nintendo exclusive, there was some semblance of being back to good form. I'm actually a bit sad. |

| I feel that Sonic Lost World was a worthwhile experiment that had it's strengths and weaknesses, and that Sochi Olympics 2014 - while unremarkable compared to the console's best - is still a decent addition to the Wii U games library. Sonic Boom (which I've had pre-ordered for months) isn't looking too clever in some of those GIFs flying about, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt - the only impressions I've had so far are from idiot Americans on Twitter. The track record for the Sonic games over the last seven/eight years has been pretty good, I hope Boom continues that. |

| I'm with Jimbob in being sad that this is a missed opportunity for some great Sonic. They at least were trying with Sonic Lost World I guess.
I should probably pick up Sonic Colours on Wii...
