What is the longest drought?+

So playing a spot of the ok smash bots, as you do, and all the old gags come out; your time felching, your "lucas looks guilty as though he was touching himself" and all that. Then at the end we're looking at our stats (I cleaned up on KOs, natch) and as always we come to longest drought and we're all making a big deal out of it like we know what it is but seriously; what is it?

A quick google search says that its the longest (in seconds) that you've went without attacking, also missed attacks aren't counted.

I'm really confused.

I figured it was something like that but it didn't feel right that in a game where I've had like ten kills I spent 28 seconds not attacking. Ooh well, who am I to argue with Mr Sakurai?

So... is this thread going anywhere, or shall I move it to Off-Topic and we can use it to describe the longest we've gone teetotal (those who drink)?

I went teetotal for 7 years (14-22, I'm counting underage) and I've not had a drink since Christmas.

Like Ms, I've not had a drink since Chrimbo, although that's because I'm just antisocial.

Actually I was Straight Edge for 7 years not just teetotal, as no drugs of any kind even likes of Paracetamol, no smoking and no drink. Still don't do the first two.

I was at mum's most of last week so I didn't drink from Friday night until the following Friday night. (I got devestated on both Fridays).

Going to take that as a "yes". I've been teetotal for a few Lents, but nothing more: as someone who tries not to drink to excess (control issues and not liking hangovers), I've never felt the need to quit otherwise for more than a week.

Mas mentioned drugs: I am rather more partial to Lemsip than I should be. Such a rebel, me.

I'll drink once a month at the most, though that's probably more down to the cost of it than anything else. My only other drug of choice is good ol' caffeine of which I probably consume far too much.

I do drink to much rubbish which has a lot of caffeine in it.

Can something count as a drought if one has never partaken in it to begin with?

I had three pints and a cocktail at my work's do before Christmas. And I drank at the work's do that happened just over a year before that. So just over a year.

I didn't drink often before I turned eighteen, but definitely remember going the two months before my 18th without drinking. Since then (December 2006), I think the longest I've went without a drink is three weeks, during my Honours exams. That was a one-off. I usually get out for a drink weekly. I don't do nights out on the town often, mind - just a few pints down the street. I'm still needing to cut that down.

Can I just say - this post is really funny to me but I'm not entirely sure why.
