| So Takumi's new game, as predicted, is a reboot of the series, not Ace Attorney 6 (which the new team was confirmed to be working on anyway). Balladeer's already found out about this but I thought this Ace Attorney game needs its own thread to avoid further confusion. Details here: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/04/22/new-ace-attorney-game-will-take-place-meiji-period-japan/
Can't wait myself, a truly fresh start is just what the series needed. Have high hopes for this... |

What I gather is as soon as Ace Attorney 5 was finished (which Takumi had no involvement in), that team making it got straight to work on Ace Attorney 6 (see: http://www.siliconera.com/2013/12/29/capcom-already-working-new-ace-attorney-game/). The game Takumi has been hinting about working on for quite some time now was announced alongside Ace Attorney 6 (by Takumi himself), which is separate. |

| Oh, okay. That makes its chances of a UK release even less likely, though. It'd already be difficult enough to explain why there are samurais in LA. |

Very good point, forgot about the change in setting for the west. And as someone rightly commented under that Siliconera article: "This is a dumb idea moving this to the Meiji period. What a way to alienate your global fanbase. I will feel sorry for the translators who can't take anything we know for granted, like futons, tatamis, shoji, shogi, and don't even get me started on the various foods." Unless Takumi's going to write this for a global audience. Guess we'll see. |

| A bold experiment. It better make it outside Japan - imagine the twists and turns there could be, given the setting! |

| Trailer. I want this. I want it so badly. And yet I'm 80% sure it'll go down the same route as Investigations. There is some hope, I guess, in the fact that they happily brought yokai into AA5. |

| If Takumi is the writer, then I'm definitely interested. As others have stated, though, it could be a bit of a nightmare for the translation team.
I might be making a snap judgement, but as of now I have no interest in AA5 and 6. Somehow it just won't be the same without Takumi's penmanship. |

| Here's those scans: Judging from the screenshots, it would seem that the team who worked on Layton Vs AA (headed by Takumi) is working on this, so it is indeed a separate game to Yamazaki's team's AA6: the visuals in particular seem to use the same graphics that Layton Vs AA used, if you look at the characters models, the camerawork and how characters talk to each other in dialogue scenes. I'm hyped! |

| I like Russian Chap In Japan/London. Still dubious about the proper little Japanese flower. But I can't get really hyped about this game until I know whether it's coming out over here. I can only imagine the agony of being an AA fan at the time when Investigations 2 was being bandied around. (Still hopeful that one will get an iPhone release, actually...) EDIT: OKAY IT IS SET IN LONDON IF IT DOES NOT GET AN ENGLISH RELEASE I WILL SCREAM. |

| Another trailer (he shouts into the void). Features Wrightcestor doing a Hitler salute. Might need to cut that out prior to the translation (which had better happen...). |

| The good thing was I understood what was going on in that trailer. So it's an Ace Attorney / Sherlock crossover then. I've got to admit I am curious - these things also seem a bit linear to me, but then I loved Ghost Trick. Also look forward to Capcom doing other franchise/British TV series export crossovers in the future. Darkstalkers Abbey; Dr. Who meets Dr. Wily; Young Ones X Street Fighter... wait, that last one's a great idea... |

| It's hard to get excited about a game that may never arrive over here, hence "the void". As soon as Capcom confirm a European release (of any kind!), I'll get my hyped-up hat out. |

| eShop demo went live a few weeks ago. I played a bit of it, and it certainly *feels* like Layton Vs AA, from the presentation -- look at the more angular faces and ambitious camera angles -- to the soundtrack, which wouldn't feel out of place in Layton Vs AA.
I'm a big fan of the composer, Yasumasa Kitagawa, I really loved the soundtracks to both Layton Vs AA and E.X. Troopers. He also composed for Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and other Konami games.
Here's a bit of demo footage: https://youtu.be/JnxZ2fN3DkY?t=128 |

| Sad - but not unexpected, as you rightly point out - news. Maybe we Ace Attorney fans should petition Capcom to get it translated? I'd do the translation into French for a pittance... although it'd have to be in English first, natch. |

| Mega-bump: it's been fanslated. I'm not sure I'll pick up the fanslation, given that my 3DS is on the fritz (and you presumably need to much about with some homebrew stuff to get it working) and that I don't have an Android 'phone; but those who do may be interested? For me, it's dilemma time. Do I try and find a Let's Play, or do I wait for a Western release that may never come? |
