| I will finally be joining that most 'hard core' gamer club, and own a WiiU at the end of the month!
This might be a short lived topic, but I wondered if you guys have any tips for me. E.g. Installing the predicable 'new console patch', what to download off the eShop, or simply un boxing the thing?
can you tell, I'm getting excited! |

| Play as Pip. He may seem a bit underpowered and incompetent at the start of the game, but he doesn't have to go through the tedious Australian sections like Abel, and his playthrough is more fulfilling than Estella's. On a more serious note, be prepared for a couple of relatively lengthy day one installs, don't transfer data from your Wii unless you have to (it takes ages, and playing Wii games through the Wii U is cumbersome and prevents use of the GC pads), and buy Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze! Among other things. |

| As ever, it depends what sort of games you like, but Rayman Legends is recommended, as is Pikmin 3 (the GNamer #1 game of the Wii U's first year). As for downloadable titles, the NES Remixes are great (with 2 outclassing 1), EarthBound is worth looking at, and Child Of Light is hot right now. |

| It was going to be released on 20/9, but was stopped at the last minute by EA stealing all of the developer's money. |

| Pro tip: you dont have to go through a lengthy update process, when it first prompts you to update hit cancel rather than it stopping the update this will continue it in the background so you can play any retail games you may have.
Once you go back to the main wii U menu (after a while) an install process should start & that should only take 15 minutes.
