| Well I've done it, not the first person but I don't need to grind for Pokemon until Hoopa and Volcanion are officially announced - and that a new generation comes out.
Unfortunately this means for now at least I am officially done with the game. I have enjoyed every minute of this remake, and the fantastic Delta Episode, and I just hope they'll give us free DLC that will add more episodes and areas in the future. |

| Y'all just wait until Christmas. Then I'll be the one to fill up this thread with the nicknames and natures of my Pogeymons. You'll all be sick of me by the end. Sick I say! |

| Until such time, Balla, a ZJ update: training up for Gym Three. - Vague town stuff:
(what have they done to Mauville?! Seriously! It does remind me of Join Avenue, though, which was a venture I really liked, so... yeah. Couldn't find the Pokémon Center for ages, though)
Last night I got a Volbeat which Twitter named 'Mephisto'. What a badass little firefly he will be! In the process, I discovered that 'Volbeat' is the name of a Danish band. |

| Honestly this game is beginning to disappoint me. It's just so easy that there's no real joy or sense of achievement. Even primal Kyogre was a complete cakewalk (maybe it would have been tougher if I was trying to catch it rather than simply kill it, aqua ring is a waste of a turn on a heavy offense team but quiet the dick move for trying to catch something). I really hope the elite four at least will put up a fight, at the very least they'd better not have had the amount of pokemon on their team nerfed like a certain seventh gym leader. I want some tension in these fights, not a bunch of cakewalks.
On the flip side the rng gods saw fit to give me a lanturn and sableye yesterday, so I'll have some ammo for a certain water gym leader. Although given how balla the absol shredded primal kyogre I'm half tempted to just slaughter the gym with it now, but that would break the over leveling rule in the process so I'll use the Lanturn instead. |

| I agree with Athrun's thoughts, as someone playing the game normally (no Nuzlocke for me!). I don't believe that heavily impacts the game -- Pokemon's appeal reaches too many places, and there are many more diversions in such an open-ended RPG which are still great to pursue -- nostalgia aside I can't say I enjoyed the "main game" an awful lot for reasons noted.
I was about to rage at EXP Share, something which you can turn off but you simply won't due to the value of those missed experience points, but it's other things which are simply baffling. That one scene in the Team Aqua base, where the five siblings send out five houndours is paramount to what I mean: who thought that was a good idea? The only difficulty from that was staying awake long enough to mash the A button.
Game Freak haven't really gotten Pokemon's balancing -- post-game serious battle places aside -- right since Black/White, and it's a shame. Black/White were terrific fun to play through, with heart-in-mouth battles along the way. Game Freak *knew* they were hard, too, inserting those doctors/nurses you could battle midway through dungeons who'd act as health checkpoints once defeated. |

| Thirded. There were places in the originals where you really ran the gauntlet and were lucky/skilled to get across them: Route 110 for the first time, Mt. Chimney... - Relationship between ORAS and RSE:
A number of trainers seem to have disappeared from the map, too... I'm sure there was a second Triathlete on Route 117, and another chap near the sign on Route 110.
It'll help me to belt to the end of the game, sure, but the enjoyment is decreased somewhat.

| I thought this would happen as I thought it was great but like I said in my review, I've never played them before and I was more comparing to X&Y when I did my review. |

| It is a bit of a shame that the games are like this as for me even though it is my favorite gen even though it is fairly simple |

| I made a start on this last night. I didn't rate the original Ruby game all that highly, but Pokémon's recent form - all the main games since 2010 have been the dog's bollocks - means that this warrants a go.
I got through Pokémon Y without knowing about Wonder Trade, but unfortunately I've succumbed to the temptaion before even the first Gym. My squad is a wee bit unbalanced: to go with my Torchic and Ralts, I've now aquired Sableye, Gible, Spiritomb and Thunderus (all between Lv 1 and, er, 68).
Hmm. I fear that I'll break the game for myself.
EDIT: I've beat the third gym leader with a squad of Charmeleon, Gabite, Spiritbomb, Metang, Linoone and Tentacool, all between Lvs 25-30. Piece of piss so far, I've done myself no favours. |

| Finally had an easy legendary catch in the form of using a great ball to catch Rayquaza. Then kinda cheated and used the Master ball on Deoxys |

| Finished the story an hour ago, for the most part the game was a breeze until Steven, I barely made it through the fight with my last pokemon (Azumarill is the best pokemon ever folks), although the fight left me with some complaints but those will be addressed when I write up my thoughts on the game overall after I've finished the Delta Episode.
What I want to say besides the fact I am triumphant with my nuzlocke by one yellow HP Azumarill, is that the ending credits were brilliant stuff. I won't say why because that would be spoiling things, but it was a great touch and the personal element in them was great stuff that more games could do with taking note of. Those who've seen them know what I'm talking about, and everyone else will know once they see them for themselves.
As for the nuzlocke, I end it with a whopping 14 dead Pokemon, most of which died because I made extremely stupid moves aside from the five I lost against Steven and his surprisingly well built team. The five that died were Lord Kipper the Swampert (yeah, I had to sacrifice my starter to win, kinda brutal), Shroomio the Breloom, Balla the Absol (sorry Balladeer, he went down fighting at least!), Joe the Glaile, and Bowie the Swellow. May they live on immortalized in the Hall of Fame! The sole survivor of my core team was Aqua Mouse the Azumarill. |

| Finally started up my AS! And the DexNav is a thing of beauty. Currently wearing a Taillow with Steel Wing and a Poochyena with Ice Fang, in addition to Wingull, Ralts, Lotad, and Torchic. And the Exp. Share is off, although I still don't like how the Exp. Points don't scale down if you switch Pokémon mid-fight.
One thing: does anyone know how I transfer over my Mega Glalie from the demo.? Would probably be a tad unbalanced if I brought it over now, mind... |

| The Delta episode is awesome, and meteor falls looks amazing. It's just as well they held off on generation 3 remakes, meteor falls wouldn't have looked even half as nice on the old ds engine. |

EDIT: No early-game Sableyes? Very disappointing. |

| Yesterday my oft-discussed-on-Twitter cousin visited and we traded a few monsters. Some of the names that had been suggested are now lost, sadly! He used me terribly: switching over his top team from X, plonking them in Omega Ruby and walloping the Elite Four! There was a Diancie in it for me, though, so that was OK. |

| Ah pokemon bank, I remember the days where I spent hours transferring my old pokemon to the new games so I didn't lose them. Can't say I miss having to do it, even if it does require a small three dollar fee. |

| My plan has become to have an entire team of Pokémon that can Mega-Evolve. So I'm looking to have a Blaziken, Sableye, Gyarados, Manectric (despite its stupid hair), Steven's Shiny Metagross, and one other. Altaria or Gardevoir looking likely. At the moment, in Fiery Path, I'm on Combusken/Kirlia/Wingull/Lombre/Sableye/Beldum. So, halfway there! Haven't seen anything that's really wowed me yet visually, although it does all look very nice. Dunno what y'all are moaning about concerning Mauville, though. I like what they've done with the place, although maybe not mauve enough. And the Game Corner man's comment was brilliant. |

| It's also home to one of the single most disturbing things in the entire franchise once you hit post game! I'm sorry x/y protagonist, I didn't know what I was setting loose on the world. . . Also just discovered the destiny knot is locked away under some irritating reward conditions. Which wouldn't be so annoying if I hadn't just spent three or so hours chaining darmanitan with the dexnav to breed with my five IV male blaziken and get a perfect child quickly. Not a big deal but I was kind of hoping to have one more 5 iv hatchling before the year crosses over. |

| I like Mauville too, which means a lot given how much I don't like heavily tweaked remakes.
Sadly I haven't really returned to this much since finishing the Delta Arc. I think if I explore the Battle Island place I'll get back into it though, I do want to do battling seriously again but the lack of a Battle Frontier did demotivate me somewhat! |
