| About time this got its own thread. - Coming to Australia on 21st November, elsewhere next year.
- Features a rather natty colour scheme, reminiscent of the SNES, and a little nub-like second stick (that can be used with SSB3D, say, while the Circle Pad Pro can't. Hmm...).
- Extra power: Xenoblade 3D, for example, will only be able to run on the new 3DS, while SSB3D can't have Miiverse or the browser running at the same time on the old machines.
- In recent news, more games with "3DSi" improvements are on the way. Prepare for more base-splitting...
That last point, especially, worries me. I'm thinking that the 3DSi will get more specific software and upgrades than the DSi did, due to the power jump. This is not a good thing for someone who has no plans to buy the console... |

| What I've seen of it from TGS I'm more convinced about it but the last bit you put about exclusive gameS and some such as SMASH being improved on it is a slight worry.
I do plan to get one even maybe import from shanks land due to how cheap it actually is there but if I don't most likely be around launch as hey it's nintendo and I've bought nearly all there system iterations apart from micro & dsi, ds xl's. |

| Smash is one of the reasons I plan on importing. As for getting one here I may get one eventually depending on how Smash fares and what the exclusive games will be |

| I never played with the C-Stick on Smash, so the added functionality there doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the prospect of a swathe of games that I can't play on my fairly recently purchased 3DS XL, especially as I've no current inclination to upgrade. |

| I'd be tempted to nab one solely to be one of the few folks in the western world to have a local one, but alas it's a 3DS I won't be using for ages or the mikasa figure I have pre ordered and a bunch of games. The lack of any killer apps will see me pick one up in about a year instead. Still I'm really surprised to see this coming here first, australia is usually behind the rest of the world, although frankly I think they're being smarter as well. I have no idea why the other territories are choosing to skip the Christmas rush with the system only to probably release it in the dry spell early next year where nobody actually buys anything. |

| Saccharine-as-all-hell advert for the i3DS (regular version)'s face plates. Worth watching for Hipster Bowser alone.
CVG tells me that "The lady in the ad is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, a Japanese fashion blogger turned singer." Wasn't she at HyperJapan, Beemoh/Fronk? |

| The smaller one is growing on me due to the faceplates and as I will be keeping my XL for the foreseeable future, I might got for the small one but then if I've got a New 3DS. I would be playing SMASH, Monster Hunter etc on that so would want the bigger screen. |

| So that's the third time I've clicked on a link to that advert in the last 30 minutes. I never learn. |

| So the New 3DS has sold 233,483 units in it's first 2 days, 172,332 of those were the N3DS XL version which did have a Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate XL Bundle.
But those numbers are mad though as the WiiU did 307,471 in a week, PS4 did just about 300k, Xbox One did 23k that was also a week.

| Yeah hunter did 1.6m in it's a first few days.
Japan loves the handheld even the VITA, console gaming is dieing there. I'm interested how it does down under. |

| Japan loves Nintendo. Japan loves portables. Not really a surprise.
I'll celebrate if it does those numbers in the UK. Only I won't, because I don't want Ninty to be encouraged by decent sales figures to update a generation halfway through. Not that they wouldn't do that anyway. |

I've never really imported anything before, so I'm abit nervous. |

| That's alright I ordered my Japanese one before I knew it was coming out here. Though did find something odd in the fact that the 32gb mini SD card I got for it doesn't hold all the games as it did on the old system. I only have 6000 blocks left already |

| Much as I love the look of them, and really want one, I think I'd have to play with that second analogue nubbin first. Much as sites have championed the unit as a whole, I'm still not sure about that nubbin. Nubbin. Silly word |

| As it's not really a bargain, so decided not to put in the bargain thread but likely cheaper then when they do come out her as GAME selling Old XL's for the same price, 365games a UK site are talking orders for the Australian New 3DS's.
PlayAsia also have them up and if you go for a certain postage option you won't have to pay VAT when it arrives over here. |

| Just - want - a - release date. I'm not playing my day one 3DS at the moment for fear of breaking the Circle Pad, which will obviously change once Alpha Sapphire lands. |

| I've gone the 365games route. Will post up impressions when I get one. I'm quite looking forward to this!
Incidentally, I noticed that the contrast on the XL model is vastly superior to the smaller New 3DS, which is disappointing. It seems like we've got another DSi/DSi XL situation where the larger model has the better screens by far, and the price differential is relatively small. I prefer the smaller screens, but have gone with the XL just to have better colour reproduction. I hope the speakers are good. |
