WRC 3DS

This slipped out quietly. It's a WRC game from Firebrand Games, who brought us some excellent DS/Wii racers (Trackmania DS/Wii, Grid DS, Need For Speed the Run 3DS/Wii) and some not-so-excellent work-for-hire projects for Activision (Fast and Furious Wii U/3DS).

Hopefully this falls in the former category, as I'd love a good handheld racer when the genre's not really showed its face since, er, WRC 4 on Vita. This year saw the series switch platforms and developers.

Genuinely didn't know this was a thing! I too would love a good handheld racer. Ridge Racer 3D was almost four years ago - it's definitely time for another great 3DS arcade racer. WRC could have a good shout.

Ah, not heard this at all! I loved (Grid DS prequel) Race Driver: Create and Race from 'em, a new game (if any good, natch) would be a lovely handheld addition!

The core driving actually pretty pretty great and weighty, but it seems like the 3DS version is identical to the iOS/Android versions only to be sold at three times the price. Or at least based off that Miiverse post which laments the lack of modes and content in it.

I don't even associate 3DS (or DS) with racing games. It's a bit of an anaemic genre these days, isn't it?
