| Terminator 2 is my favourite film as well! I have "NO FATE" tattooed on my shoulder in the style of the message Sarah Connor scratches into the table.
As for the new film; i'm glad to see another Terminator film with Arnold in the lead role, but I'm hesitant to get too excited after the previous couple of movies. |

| Terminator 2 is an amazing film. But the first one is actually better. |

| Only seen the first one in French. For me, the first use of the one of the most famous catchphrases in movie history was "Je reviendrai". Hilariously, the person who dubs Arnie into French keeps the accent! |

| Arnie rarely dubs his own voice into German as his accent is considered similarly to a West country accent in the UK; a comical, yokel farmer. |

This is something I hear a lot, mostly from my parents. I can see the argument; T1 is a tight, tense thriller with great effects for the time and smartly used action. In fact, it probably is the "better" film, in so much as anything like that is objective. However, T2 has phenomenal action scenes, timeless visual effects, an Arnie you can route for, great gags, an amazing performance by Linda Hamilton and a touching story arc between John and the Terminator. There might be a little nostalgia involved, and its a close-run thing, but T2 will always win out for me. - Luigi442wii wrote:

T3 was more of a fun Schwarzenegger send-up, a fairwell to movies when it seemed he was taking a personal hiatus. I think Salvation was destined to be a great film until Christian Bale's ego ruined it. |

| Thanks for the merging of the threads.
There's a troll on youtube who says T1 is the worst movie of all time for its poor CGI. The idiot.
T1 and T2 are the main best films, I don't clearly know anymore which is my favourite. |

| Just watched Genisys. How... interesting. It felt like Ultimate Marvel: all the best bits of several years of back story, shoved together as quickly as possible. It sort of worked for Ultimate Marvel; not so much for Genisys. Oh well, eh? |

| I hated Genisys. I think I mentioned it here on this very site, and I know I wrote about it on Gintendo, but I'm happy to have another chance!
Genisys took everything that made Terminatpr special out, and left us with an empty, soulless, generic action movie. The CGI effects were dull to watch compared to the amazing animatronics and stunt work of earlier films. Kyle Reese went from a believably damaged war veteran, skinny and scarred and jumpy and interesting, who smiled precisely once in the runtime of T1, to a handsome, wise-cracking hero. The ending overwrote the tragic, bittersweet love story of T1 with a schmaltzy Hollywood happy ending that didn't make sense in the context of either of the previous versions of how time travel works!
And the fights weren't even good. |
