| I can see it's passing Bloodstained easily even if the stretch goals are less then that amount. |

| I presume they're going to get some proper voice actors in? Because that scene in the Kickstarter video was one of the most stilted things that I have ever watched.
That aside, that funding target though. That's going today. 1.7m as I speak. Mind you, the first stretch goal is at 4m. |

| Shenmue 1&2 was similar voiced to that. Also I've changed my pledge to $120 as I need to give them that much, Jay you can have the PC trial code when it comes. Thought the first stretch goal was 2.5m Balla also SEGA must look like this It's backed

| Could not believe this when I woke up this morning. Can't pledge until payday but looks like I'll be buying a PS4 just for this game |

No, he looks so much older in the new design and some of the facial features are off. |

| Well he probably is a bit older - it's been 14 years!
You a Shenmue fan, Jas? Thought it might fall under the umbrella heading of "JRPGs" that you and Cappa don't seem to have a lot of time for. |

I'm sure the story will be a direct continuation though so he won't be 14 years older & yes I'm a big Shenmue fan as it has a lot in common with Kung fu films which I love to bits. |

| Sony are publishing it seems and this is going through the same program as SFV, the Kickstarter was set at $2m to see if people do want the game like with Bloodstained. |

| As much as I'm happy the game is going to be made it is a bullshit move of Sony not to be fully funding it themselves. |

| Same could be said about Bloodstained's publisher though.
Maybe they thought it was to risky or only wanted to spend $8m and it needs $10m
But really who cares it's coming and if you own a PS4 or PC you can play. |

That's also a bullshit move then but just on a smaller scale, also I don't buy Sony would have thought it was "too risky" as if Yu Suzuki comes to you with Shenmue 3 you know exactly what you have. This is nothing against the game which I'm stoked exists it's just poor moral practice on Sony's part not to be funding it themselves that's all. |

| I guess, from the interview apparently SEGA were a bit of a pain and this has been in the works since that talk last year with Suzuki & Cerny. |

| This looks to have singlehandedly got one of my mates back into videogames after a decade-long hiatus. I don't think that's ever happened to anyone I know or have heard of before - I was falling out of gaming before Wii Sports came along, but this guy has gone cold turkey since the 360 launched. Big stuff. |

| It's about freaking time they bring back the classics to the generation console, even bring back people to gaming again is amazing accomplishment and made people in to tears of happiness. For people that didn't experience the dreamcast can now experience one of the best games from it~! |

| Some more stretch goals now, but now I'm looking at the goals and the first one which was reached easily was a cinematic short of Shenmue 1&2.
What you think guys of that we did bring it up on Podcast which will be going up and from it Andy for instance I think can understand why I'm hyped for it but he feels it's not for him due to not being able to play Shenmue I & II, well he can but doesn't want to watch Shenmue The Movie which is 90 mins long (The first game) and II he might find dated.
But do you think this is maybe a good way to get around it with the cinematics shorts if you not played the first 2 and if SEGA don't see £¥€$ for a HD versions, to get around it, if you want to play III.

| Nah. Sorry, but it's just nowhere near the same. It's a nice concession, preferable to nothing, but I'd still like an HD remake of 1+2 please.
I'll still probably get this, but I don't expect to get anywhere near the experience you, Scully, or GJones would. In fact, on the subject: would anyone who's played the first two even recommend me shelling out for 3 if I haven't? |

| I think you can ad Jas and Cappa's mate to that list as well.
It's a hard one as like you say the cinematic shorts are a nice concession how you put it that you would hope get you up-to-date with the story best way that you can well looking at Wiki, unless SEGA do a HD collection then what is it going to be a 14+ year game just now with slightly better textures etc as I can't see them going the whole hog that it will likely play like a 14+ year old game and that might not be a good thing.
I would still recommend getting III when it does come out as if it's even close to II (I prefer II, before you tell me I is better) it's could be one of the best games of the 8th generation you just need to look at what Yu Suzuki has made.

| Consider I never had a dreamcast as a child playing the first and second game doesn't mean it wouldn't be any good as them. I have played games higher of the number and not played the first game or the second etc before. It has got me interested of buying it to test the latest game and can even make people want to buy the dreamcast to play the other two games. If you want to try the other two games first buy a dreamcast and stop complaining, it's the new game with or without 1 & 2 this is like a complaining mode like beyo 2, buy a wii U if you want to play it simple as that. |
