A couple in my Switch Top 10 from last year but nothing would make a All Time Top 10 though.

Yeah I'd much sooner have a year of 10 8/10's then a year of just like two 10/10 games, and having something to look forward to all year.

I tried this last year with my similarly naff laptop and I can confirm it was unplayable, I guess the sooner they introduce some kind of game pass dongle the better.

Then I bought a Switch this year as I've deemed it the #yearoftheswitch because of Bravely Default II, MonHan Rise, New Pokemon Snap, MonHan Stories 2 etc

Thanks Cappa! That's definitely a nicer way of putting it than OR saying 'Balla, it sounds like you keep buying games in genres you don't enjoy and then only play the opening level of them ', the cad. I think I have five or six 'main' genres, but I hope I try out other interesting things when they come along, even if I don't gel with all of them.

And... d'oh, I thought it was one of N64's dumping grounds. Am I thinking of a sequel?

Thanks as well Mas! I knew I was onto a winner when I decided not to slag off FFIX in this one.

It's very interesting to see your list change across the years. Obviously it's slower than some, and I notice that each year after launch has had the one new title in your top four. (Which is more than mine's changed!) Particularly interesting that the biggest changes were in 2018, i.e. a slow year for most people. I'm really keen to see happy optimistic Switch-loving Mas in 2021!


Incidentally I couldn't have asked for more to-type responses: Mas joining in with the lists and numbers, Jas commenting on MonHun and only MonHun, and Cappa lasering straight in on the mention of an N64 platformer.

My views on the Switch are still not as positive as others, which is still down to not caring about Super Mario 3D World because I played on Wii U even if it is an excellent game and then take the recent direct where Outer Wilds was shown which has been on Game Pass for ages where I could play on my Xbox One/Series/PC/Cloud, that it hasn't really been the system where I will play indies due to having preferred options.

However, 2021 going into 2022 I've been saying #yearoftheswitch because for ages due to the 3DS/VITA dying out along with the extra power of the Switch over them, I've always gone the 3DS got exclusive Monster Hunter games and RPG's such as Bravely Default, where have those been on Switch, and now they're coming that is why I'm actually excited about the Switch for the first in ages.

I've got 36 games in my wish list that are on sale, I will have a wee look but likely be playing Persona 5S and Bravely Default II now, along with Ryza 2 especially if I'm using the Switch #yearoftheswitch

Lonely Mountains is great, decent example of Game Pass as I wouldn't have played and from what I hear it's done well due to the word of mouth.

On the other hand would have bought Spiritfarer which I've barely played, so handy was in Game Pass.

Mines not changed a lot since last post even with a new Switch, just I'm more likely to play Hades now then I was and Animal Crossing won't get a look in for ages because of Nintendo's dumb save system.

Plus Atelier Ryza 2 should be here on Friday which starts the #yearoftheswitch for me

It's sort why till my post why I was getting on Xbox, it would be my new Xbox game for March (sort a April, depending on how pay falls) but now that's changed due to lack of physical version.

Think it will look pish or focus won't really be on it because of how big MonHan is but that is only on Switch, so Push Square etc aren't going to be talking MonHan Rise that it might do okay.

And for me as I now have the day off and plan to get a Switch of some sort, it's sort of a new launch day for me with MonHan Rise as BotW the big game with most of the focus and Balan being whatever else I played on Switch at the time, then of course have a got a bit of backlog building up as well for Switch due to these Japanese games that don't come to Xbox.
