You, yes you, can sign up for one of these bastards now. It's the future, people! I haven't yet, let me know if there's anything interesting involved.

Don't think this is a repeat-thread, let me know if I'm wrong.

I thought this was going to be an interesting and heartfelt thread where we each explored what Nintendo means to us personally.

Does this look like a face with a heart that can feel anything?


Anyway, it seems to do absolutely naff-all at the moment.

Yeah, I've absolutely no clue what this currently does, and my understanding of what it's going to do is hazy at best. Anyone with more knowledge care to divulge My Nintendo's features?

You need it to sign up for the Miitomo "beta". That's the extent of my knowledge at present. I think it's overtaking both the Stars Catalogue and the NNID stuff in time (read: next generation), which is good because I mostly forgot about the Stars Catalogue, so clunky was it.

Erp, not quite right. Basically My Nintendo is just Club Nintendo #2. Nintendo Network will be Miiverse #2. Simple, eh?

"My Nintendo" is the replacement to Club Nintendo. It will offer rewards in exchange for points built up from game purchases. You can earn your first lot of points by preregistering interest in miitomo, but these will only last for 6 months after the release of miitomo in March.

"Nintendo Account" is the new Nintendo online system, equivalent to PSN, which will presumably replace having an NNID. This is what you are signing up for here - a Nintendo account will be needed in order to use My Nintendo.

I'm signed up for the Miitomo BETA, on Wii U & 3DS My Nintendo will work like Premium we had with the Wii U that when you buy things you earn gold then with enough gold you can get a voucher.

With Miitomo and future mobile games and a few other things you will earn platinum, with bonus platinum if you sign up for the Miitomo BETA. With Platinum you eanr you buy cool things like hats for your Mii.

My Nintendo will bring everything together and basically reward you for playing and buying Nintendo games across it's platforms. On NX this could be differnt to Wii U & 3DS as they have to have this added to what is a old infrastructure.

Me & Jas talked about this a bit in the news section.

I don't see the point in signing up for this quite yet so I shall be waiting until a later date.

Didn't I basically post exactly this - with the same link - in the post before? (I did mean NNID rather than Miiverse, though. )

But it is rubbish that the two services are still split apart.  I just hope My Nintendo's more user-friendly than CN was.

They are and aren't a part Nintendo Account is your ID basically then My Nintendo is what you earn on the different platforms.

So I sign in to my phone, Wii U, 3DS and NX as masofdas my account and what ever I do will earn points on My Nintendo.

That is a lot simpler than typing the ridiculously long codes into CN.

No doubt I'll be dragged kicking and screaming in to signing up for this when Nintendo eventually makes it mandatory, because I'm just too lazy to bother.  

Too lazy to spend twenty seconds doing it?  You bet I am! If I held a title it'd be Lord Procrastination!

I never noticed the link - I always miss them on here because they hardly look any different to regular text! And yeah, I just read you comparing it to Miiverse so thought you had the wrong idea completely

I'm going to shamelessly procrastinate on this. Once a student, always a student.

Interesting to see the points run out after 6 months instead of 12, will rewards be cheaper, less impressive stuff or points easier to obtain than Club Nintendo's? Obviously I'm hoping for the latter but I fear it may be more download based rewards.

The rewards as far as I'm aware will be things like hat's for your Mii's to start with and they'll cost platinum points.

I doubt it'd happen here or there but with the Japanese version I got 10% back of what amount I put on the e shop. (It was only 100 yen)
