Chat Thread: Tokyo Drift

I'm off to Amsterdam in a week's time. Have any forumites been? Any tips for making the most of it/ avoiding the worst of it?

Barely. I went with the nuclear family: seemed like a nice enough city, very picturesque, quite a bit of art. The smell of cannabis is very strong though in a lot of places, which may or may not be a bad thing for you.

The cold sweat is terrible, agree, but I think I still agree with Andy: I'd rather have the relief than the disappointment, even if I need to get out of bed for a bit and towel down.

If it wouldn't be horrifically rude to the folks you'll be going with, I'd be saying you should both meet up and have an impromptu GNamer meet-up - the first not on British soil?

I can't promise you won't get a number of drunken, indecipherable messages demanding to know where you're drinking and why it isn't the same place as me.

I mean, I'll be in Scotland so...

That's some coincidence, try not to consume too much wacky backy eh? I was only ever there as part of a high school trip but Netherlands is a nice place, would love to visit it again one day.

Never been to Amsterdam, so I can't help you other than the usual "say no to school, stay in milk and drink your drugs" talk that I'm sure you've already had. With nothing useful to add to the thread, I kind of just wanted to post on this shiny new thread. Now I've done that I'll quietly leave again.

The last chat thread had a lifespan of two years, so it lasted a fair while!

On a slightly related note, the lack of a number in the title for this chat thread is bothering me, even though I know Tokyo Drift wasn't titled as Fast and the Furious 3. Still bothering me, though.

@Zero: Sunday is my birthday, and it sounds like I'm being left in charge of what we do that day. We'll be visiting the Anne Frank museum, but after that I'm hunting you down and crashing your party.

I have no idea of the Sunday itinerary. We may well bump into each other at the museum.
