Subject: Sod Off! February, I'm saving for a Switch. Fri 20 Jan 2017 - 17:25
Two days early as I did the list and video today, also the March releases due to February being a short month will come around fast.
Retail Games
3rd Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Road to Boruto PS4, ONE Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World 3DS
8th Nioh PS4
14th For Honor PS4, ONE Sniper Elite 4 PS4, ONE
17th Dragonball Fusions 3DS The Walking Dead - Telltale Series: The New Frontier PS4, ONE 18th Slain PS4
21st Halo Wars 2 Xbox Anywhere (17th Ultimate edition) 24th Berserk and the Band of the Hawk PS4 LEGO Worlds PS4, ONE Warhammer 40,000: Deathwatch PS4
28th Torment: Tides of Numenera PS4, ONE, PC
My Thoughts: A okay month with decent looking titles with the first catching my eye being Nioh but I think it will be a similar for me as the Souls series, I really like the look of the game but it just doesn't click with me.
For Honor looks sort of interesting but I don't know how many people I know would be playing it. Halo Wars 2 is a big one for me and I'm going to play the second BETA this evening but this is very much the last Xbox One game, I'm looking forward to and I don't know if I'll even bother with this one due to likely getting 3 new games for my birthday to keep me busy.
Best of the Rest

What a dreadful month! I'll pick up TWD at some point, but otherwise that's a list of pure trash.

The only game that might have tempted me is a PS4 exclusive. Oh well, I'd want to read some Berserk before I played a game.
I am tempted by that Zelda art book, though.
All in all, not bothered: I've got games I want to finish, and I've got Switch games to save for!

The LEGO Batman Movie is a must-see. I might be tempted to get Poochy and Yoshi's Woolly World; I've downloaded the demo and will let all o'y'all know how it is soon. Other than that, the most likely thing to happen in February is me buying Dragon Quest VIII.

I will pick up the walking dead at some point, but not until all the episodes are out. For Honour mildly intrigues me, but again it's not something I'm bothered about getting on release. Otherwise, there are a bunch of games here that might be alright but I'm only ever going to play them if they're offered as a free game as part of my PSN subscription.
I just got Doom for free pretty much, alongside my Zelda pre-order (As part of that £10 off amazon orders over £50 today) so that'll do me nicely until I get Switchy!

Dragon Ball Fusions is supposed to be really good, and everything I've seen backs that claim up. Beyond that it's a really pitiful month, but considering how front-loaded the year was in January and how busy March is going to be (and no, I'm not talking about the Switch) a month of downtime is perfectly fine. One game is perfectly fine, hell I prefer only having one game to pick up.

I thought the first bit was going to be about Nioh which I thought all you guys would be looking forward to, then it turns out its Berserk is the PS4 exclusive that may have tempted you if you had one.

Didn't even spot Nioh! Both tempting, both because of the Dark Souls connection.

I reckon Sony will be hoping people think that and they have another Bloodborne on their hands.

Don't think I'll be getting anything either but both Berserk & Nioh do look interesting even if they aren't day one buys, also had no idea that the sequel to John Wick is out so soon so I'll have to go see that.

Pretty sure that Andy & Jay weren't that keen on the Nioh alpha/beta, also even though the souls influence is there the combat is completely different.

Yeah I played the alpha, not played the new demo yet as from the alpha even though I like the setting and I didn't mind the combat which like you say is different to Souls which is a good thing as a direct copy would be lame, it was the git gud aspect which the game may have which puts me off.

I enjoyed the alpha and betas myself but I think it's biggest issue was the overall difficulty which sat too closely to unfair for me, apart from the bosses it didn't seem like the standard enemies had patterns you could learn so you just had to react and hope for the best outcome.

Yup, the Nioh Alpha was probably the worst Alpha I've tried. It's a game I'll chuck on a Christmas list at some point if it reviews well, but I've not got the patience for something that unfair.

I didn't enjoy what I played of Nioh during the alpha. I'm sure it's improved since then, but it wasn't a good first impression.
Besides that, I'm sure I'll have a look at TWD later in the year, but nowt for me this month.

Its a hard one as it is a alpha and I hear they improved it quite a bit and heard talks from the media it was one of the most successful alphas/betas to listen to feedback.
Talking of BETAs, I was going to play Halo Wars 2 but I need Xbox Live which I don't have. Was going to then play it on PC but it seems to load up fine then soon as the game gets to the main menu just exits itself for some reason.
So I've not played it all.

I really bounced off of the last Halo Wars beta due it being online only, really need the single player to learn how to play the game & jumping straight into a battle with a real person was just a humiliating defeat.

I only lost one in ten games when I played the first BETA, which EofGiz was shocked at how good I was at it.

It really was night & day difference between the Nioh alpha & beta but after playing the last chance trial last night something is still off about it, for me its two biggest issues are still the difficulty and the combat/enemy mechanics - the former is easy to fix since each mission in the game has it's own set difficulty (ones in the beta being of the medium variety) where the game will likely start you out a bit easier & build it up.
The combat/enemies would likely be impossible to change at this stage & I don't think I can ever get used to dying just because I didn't react to an attack quickly enough which is a shame because there is an interesting game underneath all of that.

But that's how I find Souls as I die as I didn't block or dodge quick enough when getting attacked. Is the difference here is I can learn how the enemy attacks in Souls but you can't in Nioh.

Aye there just doesn't seem to be space for anticipating your enemy in Nioh, even when I started playing Dark Souls for the first time when I died it felt like my mistake but in Nioh it feels like the games every single time.

I will probably get For Honor, basing that alone off my past enjoyment of LOTR Conquest and Mount and Blade: Warband multiplayer

There's no "supposed" about it, the game is brilliant, I can't wait for the English version just so I can play it again.
I'll also get Yoshi

Nioh seems to be getting some good reviews and it seems to be more of Ninja Gaiden x Souls then a Souls x Ninja Gaiden, which sounds more up my street but has anyone actually picked it up?
