| All the schools in Scotland are shutting tomorrow, except they aren't. They're still going to be open to children of key workers and to "the most vulnerable". Here's the thing though: what is a key worker these days? I would say that a cleaner, delivery driver or stockroom assistant in a supermarket is as essential a worker as the likes of those in social work, educational psychology and mental health therapy. I think the school I work in is going to turn into a babysitters, quite honestly.
Me? I've been told I'm allowed to work and go in there "on a voluntary basis". Bollocks to that. I'm out of there, and I'm away. I've travelled back to live with my Mum and Dad for the foreseeable future. My N64 and whisky are here. |

| You just know that the definition of 'key worker' is going to be absolute guff. Just like the people who were going to get more 'immigration points' because they'd done a STEM degree and earned lots of money, meaning that bankers were more welcomed than care workers. What's the hardest thing to get hold of for y'all? We've been able to acquire pasta at a local shop and toilet rolls online, but can't get tinned tomatoes for love or money. We've tried both. |

| Really struggled to find potatoes, though have managed to get some from Amazon. New problem is eggs, only available through Morisons on Amazon and they have no delivery slots... |

| I find eggs weird. Mas said they were all out in his store, but they're perishable and can't be frozen... can they? |

| Yeah I don't get eggs either but that's the thing I've seen in other stores as well be a sellout. |

| Well, I'm still home, as you know I was off all last week and I had some symptoms such as the temperature for a few days where it felt I was in Jamaica but all have gone really.
At the time it was off for 7 days then either go back to normal or continue being off and ring 111 if still got symptoms. Well, I went back to work today after talking to them on Friday, saying got a bit of a cough but I'll be fine by Sunday.
I go in, walk into the office get my phone etc and start coughing, which one of the managers says should I be in etc and I say I fine then a not long after one of the other mangers comes and sees me and says all the managers have spoken about it and they've got to send me home for another 7 days because of due care.
So I'm back home, apparently, they're sending anyone home with any sign of symptoms and had a customer complain yesterday as a colleague coughed a little that me coughing like I was (splutting for a good 20 secs or so), that would be a real issue.
Yeah so I feel pretty much fine, that I guess now compared to last week where I was in bed most of it and wanted to do nothing but sleep, to it treat as a bit of an extra holiday this year and play Animal Crossing, Ori, Bleeding Edge etc

| Lyla started a "new cough" on Friday so that's us isolating for a couple of weeks, any other time I'd say it's teething which I'm 99% sure it is but rules is rules and I'd hate to pass it on. |

| Hope Lyla's alright Smurf.
Looks like you won't be alone in isolation at least with the news tonight about the UK going into lockdown. I do worry about the state of the supermarkets over the next few days as this will surely spur on a new wave of panic buying, but it's a necessary measure especially when you see all the pictures of numpties out sunning themselves in packed parks over the weekend. |

| Yeah if people were more sensible I think lockdown wouldn't have been needed.
The odd thing is I got email from Currys saying they're still open, I might be being stupid but isn't everything but Supermarkets & Pharmacies meant to shut. I can see them being a tad essential if a washing machine or fridge packs up, but that's about it not I'd like to upgrade my phone. |

| I don’t think sensibility has anything to do with it. A lot of the problem is that “advice” is just useless. You can’t plan around generic advice, businesses can’t justify closing for advice, not to mention it doesn’t exactly sound that serious. I kinda had to keep going to the gym as I’d already paid for PT sessions which I couldn’t really justify losing out on the investment for. If this had been actioned sooner that wouldn’t have been the case. |

| Hope all of yall are safe and sound. Japan is ploughing on the same as ever. I don't know if thats because we took early enough precautions to avoid the worst of it, or because the government have their heads in the sand . . . |

| THE WINE SOCIETY HAS CANCELLED DELIVERIES
THE END IS UPON US
REPENT AND PRAY
Re. being sensible, the government dragged its heels putting meaningful measures in place and should get the bulk of the blame, as with most things it does or doesn't do. That said, I went out for my one exercise walk the day before the lockdown and people were lying around alongside the canal, less than two metres apart; and frankly I was probably part of that problem. Businesses can't justify closing for advice, but individuals could and should have paid a bit more attention if their livelihoods weren't at stake as a result. |
