| Hi all,
I know a similar D&D thing's been done before, but: had an idea. AI Dungeon is a text adventure/interactive fiction/D&D-esque experience generator, which uses AI machine learning. It's pretty good at what it does now - and it's only been ruined slightly by sex offenders! But I was planning on having a poke round. However, I have not a lot of imagination. So I was thinking of running it at a slow old pace, passing the latest text on, getting people's suggestions as for what to do next, seeing what happens. You can get it to generate your typical fantasy/space-y starting points, however, you can also provide it with your own starting story; naturally the first thing I thought of was One nit while I was sleppin, a grackler cam. And then a navre. Is anyone up for this? If not, I won't drag a dead horse to flog water or whatever it is. |

| Look. There have been several times where I've thought, 'The GNamer RPG that ran for a bit was great fun, and people seemed to enjoy it, and if whoever ran it was up for resurrecting... oh, that was me,' and not followed through because my life is too busy/I'm lazy/both. I would 1200% (that was a typo but let's roll with it) be up for a GNamer-themed RPG that I don't have to run if others are!
Note: I'd completely forgotten 'And then a navre.' from the last bit of that famous letter! |

| I don't really know how it's going to work, other than me logging in here more regularly, posting the next bit of text that's spat out, and then passing on the first / best prompt suggestion. It's not really D&D, in that you don't play as loads of people. However, I think I can populate the world with characters. So in that regard Andy, yes it does things for you. |

| It sounds like I'd still have to post though, which is really the main bit I'd want it to do... |

| Introduce an NPC called Andy, Jim. He can be the butt of all the jokes.
'Oh no! A horrible monster come to drown us in poisonous spittle!' 'Don't say that about Andy!' (laughs) |

| You could just read it, and/or tell other people that their suggestions were shit, or I chose a shit option, or something. |

| I like the sound of it, especially as a good excuse for me to visit the forum more frequently. |

| Are you saying the top-quality discourse isn't reason enough? What's the base number of players we reasonably need Jim? |

| Guys I think you've misunderstood - or I didn't explain it well. It's not D&D with a cast of characters; it's more like a text adventure. I only compared it to that other thing in that you all fired in answers.
I'm starting to think I might have to abandon this anyway - despite all the praise, it really doesn't seem to like you starting from outside of their prepared world. |

| Oh. Boo. Not about the text adventure thing, I'm here for that, the 'not happening' thing. |

It is but it's easy enough to catch up after a few days. |

I messed about with AI Dungeon when it garnered a bit of buzz a while back and it let you do custom prompts which the AI then built upon. It takes some tinkering but you're able to get the AI to remember certain things which it may or may not call back on later in the adventure. |

| Well that's good to know at least. I fear that I'm now not going to have the time to do anything fun with it mind, so still abandoning this |
