| Greetings and salutations, you wonderful lot. It's been another mad year for us all, but we've all made it through relatively unscathed. What better way to see off the year gone by than to celebrate it with a definitely not late awards thread? THE GNAMER FORUM AWARDS 2022We usually have a three week cut off for votes to be sent in and that takes us exactly to the end of the month, so that works nicely for me. Your deadline for getting your votes in is the 31st of January at 23:59. Send them to me via PM, of course. I'm looking forward to reading your votes as they come in. As always, don't feel obligated to vote in every category. If you can't muster up the energy to fill in a certain category, don't worry. What I would ask for is for some comments to be attached to the votes you do send across. I think these vote threads are only fun when we read what we've all written about each category and nobody wants just a dry list of results. Without any further ado, here are your categories! Contributor of the Year (two votes, weighted equally): Who's been serving up the freshest content for your eyeballs to enjoy? Who's been keeping conversations ticking over by making some great threads or some really interesting posts? Funniest Forumite (one vote): The real grand prize in some people's eyes. Who's been making you laugh the most across the year during your forum visits? Post of the Year (three votes, in order of preference): It could have been a well written out review, a thought provoking reply or just a funny post that made you chuckle. Which were your favourite posts on the forum this year past? For inspiration, feel free to check out the Post Appreciation Thread starting from here.Topic of the Year (three votes, in order of preference): Which threads have been must visits when you've logged in to the forum in 2022? Nintendo Game of the Year (five votes, in order of preference): Which games released on a Nintendo platform in 2022 shone the brightest for you? This can be retail, digital or even Switch Online if you're feeling mental. Nontendo Game of the Year (five votes in order of preference): Which games released on platforms outwith of Nintendo shone the brightest for you? Will we have a very much expected runaway winner or will this be a shocking result? --- These next awards are unlikely to have out and out winners and are more for fun as such, but it would be great to see some contributions for these categories. Best Level/Area in 2022 (one vote): Which level or area in a game really stood out for you and left a lasting impression? Best Main Character in 2022 (one vote): Who was your favourite leading character in a game from 2022? Best Side Character in 2022 (one vote): This is starting to feel a bit like the Oscars... who was your favourite side character from a game in 2022? The "andyman949 will probably not vote in this category" award for Best Music Track in a Video Game in 2022 (one vote): Which tune from a game tantalised your earholes in 2022? Honourable and Dishonourable Mentions: Is there anything that we've missed out that you want to shout out? And of course, whilst the awards are a mostly positive affair, this is your chance to put the boot into the bad things in gaming or in general in 2022. GNew Year's Resolutions: What are you looking to do differently in 2023? Also, as we're having this thread a little later than usual, feel free to let us know how you're getting on with your resolutions so far if you have any! --- Looking forward to seeing what you come up with this year folks! I hope you enjoy the new categories too.

| Shouldn't it be called the Awards 2022? |

It's always been the 2022 Awards, Buska. The thread was never mislabelled as the 2023 awards. There is no war in Ba Sing Se. Mas: I'll bin off the rest, but I'll happily accept any and all votes for FFXIV. |

| Guess who has two thumbs and just spent far too long puzzling over his votes. Done now. I did have a couple of questions that I suppose might be worthy of broader thread mentions, viz. what constitutes a main character and do ports of older games released on Switch in 2022 count for the bonus categories? |

| I think I've done mine, but it's still in Outbox as opposed to Sentbox. I can't see anything to change this, so I assume it's because Moyles hasn't been on to pick it up yet? |

| Exactly how it works. Mine's waiting in the Outbox too, allowing me to reread it, wondering what the heck I said there, and make changes. Several times. |

| Cheers for getting your votes in early lads. I expect the rest will do it a day before the deadline as is the norm. - Balladeer wrote:

Regarding main character - I'd say as it's a bit of a fun category, play it by ear yourself. So long as you're not taking the piss and voting, say, the first 1-1 Goomba as best main character in Super Mario Bros., you should be fine. And for music, sure, ports released on Switch for the first time works! |

| This is your friendly reminder that you've got a week to go until your votes have to be in. We're at 4 voters thus far (5 if you count me), so still hoping for a fair bit more! |

Someone hasn't played enough Paper Mario games and really delved into the psychology of a Goomba. |

Yeah, it weirdly came to my email instead of a PM, so no idea what you did there mate. |

| I'll hopefully have some votes sent over by Sunday or Monday, still trying to finish off or at least play a good chunk of games on the playstation side of things. |

| I hear that Jas' Nontendo list is going to be Elden Ring at 1, empty space at 2, and then Elden Ring again at 3 4 and 5. He's also voted Elden Ring for best topic, best main character, and funniest forumite. |

| This is your reminder that you've only got a few hours to go if you want to get your votes in! Realistically though, so long as you get them to me before 10am tomorrow morning (which is when I'm going to collate everything together) then I wouldn't mind. Cheers to everyone who's voted so far, really appreciated! Would be nice to get a couple more to push us to 10 as we're on 8 just now. - Buskalilly wrote:

Yeah mate, I really hate reading your posts and you've rumbled me. Nah, I still got it, but the whole thing was an email, really odd. |

| I forgot to post this morning, but that's the voting officially closed! If you've forgotten to send them in, then it's too bloody late now (you had a month, come on) and you've missed your chance. I'm putting together The Bloody Big Document with all the results today - depending on how quiet it is at work, we might kick off results this evening, but failing that we'll definitely be rocking and rolling tomorrow. Oh, and we reached double digits, so cheers for those that voted! |
