Following on from the recent creepy musics thing from the music thread.
What things in games, new or old, have made you shiver a little? They could be characters, environments, sound effects, or even lines of dialogue. Please note: we're not talking about horror games here. That'd be too easy. Nor even really about games that have pretensions of horror, such as Resi 4 or Luigi's Mansion. We're talking about games where you could be pootling along quite happily, in a technicolour dreamworld full of happy things, and then something happens that makes you go "brrr". (EDIT: Also horror games now!)
I'll start with some obvious ones:

I have to say I did get a wee fright as I went to collect an item for a quest in Gaur Plains in Xenoblade when a spider crawled its way out of the cliff side & took me by surprise.

That shopkeeper from Link's Awakening. Though he's probably more 'grumpy old sod' than creepy or disturbing.

Dang, you beat me to it. The Miniblins scared the bejesus out of me when I played Wind Waker. Especially when they started running up the freakin' walls in the Forsaken Fortress.
These things freaked me out so much that I abandoned Resident Evil 4 permanently:

For me, it was that submarine you could go into for some inconsequential reward, and it was pitch black and filled with the buggers.

I got stuck in the first Forbidden Fortress section, on a floor, trying to get up a ladder, with no sword, surrounded by these. Argh.

The haunted mansion in Pokémon D/P did creepy quite well, with all the ghosts in other rooms. And Lavender town, natch. I couldn't even have the sound on if I was in Lavender as a kid.
And I always find underwater sections the creepiest. Maybe its just because I'm an awful, awful swimmer in real life, or maybe its just because the sea is big and scary and the monsters can always move in it better than I can. The flooded sections of Resi: Rev were the only bits I found really scary and the Underwater bits in Metroid Prime 2 pretty much put me off finishing the game. And who can forget how scary this is, in its own way.
And this bit was creepy in kind of a different way, but also hilarious.

On a similar Pokemon note...
Ever read Shedinja's Pokedex entry?
"Shedinja's hard body doesn't move - not even a twitch. In fact, its body appears to be merely a hollow shell. It is believed that this Pokémon will steal the spirit of anyone peering into its hollow body from its back."
Welp. That's that then.

This. And also most of Majora's Mask.
Also, Zelda II when you walk on a map tile that's a secret hole thing. WHA!

Good to know people read my OPs. Anyway, while we're still on Pokémon:
"These Pokémon are called the "Signpost for Wandering Spirits." Children holding them sometimes vanish."
Brr.
"It carries a pendulum-like device. There once was an incident in which it took away a child it hypnotized."
BRRRRR.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

Lavender Town I totally agree with! That was horrifying as a child. Still unsettling exploring a Pokemon graveyard; something you don't really associate Pokemon with is death.
I also agree with water sections of most game, always the worst, guess it goes down to the rational fear of drowning that most humans would have. Probably doesn't help that underwater sections are always horrid to control, I'm looking at Spyro.
