Just out of curiosity, I Googled "snake eat heron". Most pictures had a bemused looking heron with a snake coiled around its beak - however...

The thought did cross my mind. I did think this might be a little off-putting to newbies, more so than my ill-advised post last Sunday. I wonder if this recent wonderful development should be split off, and become the GNamer Role-Playing Thread, say. Thoughts?

Same here! Perhaps a welcome thread V.2 or "New Welcome Thread" (how original of me!) be made, and as you said this one be renamed or something else, that would work.

Or just leave it, it will pass. You can over-micromanage a forum, and even with the increased number of users we've had recently, we don't have the numbers to do that.
