| I believe it's the games of 2014 and beyond. Co-hosted by Iwata I think. |

| I hope this brings solid release dates for the games we have known about for some time & maybe some single player info about Splatoon. (of course a few surprises would be nice)

| Well, I've seen a few rumours floating about on twitter that the MK8 dlc will be out on the 13th. |

| Confession: I've never watched a full Nintendo Direct. I won't get to see this one, either! It'd be great to get the date of the MK8 DLC and maybe some details of a new game or two? The 3DS release schedule is, as has been pointed out, looking thinner than Kate Moss after an enema.

| I don't blame you for not seeing them through, I was getting pretty indifferent to them before they seemed to pack up and leave altogether. However, I'm so starved of news now I'm thoroughly excited for this one *awaits disappointment* |

| I'm not expecting a lot of new stuff from this - maybe one new game, and some release dates. Something for the 3DS would be grand, however. |

| After giving it some thought they'll show smash wiiu, pokemon, mario kart 8 dlc, amiibo, captain toad and date titles coming out Q1 maybe Q2 as well. With one sort of surprise like 20secs of zelda at the end. |

| Release dates and details seems likely, I like mas' idea of a surprise MK8 drop at the end and a little surprise at the end would be grand. I don't even need much in the way of a surprise, Nintendo direct is always cool. |

| Well, there's yer surprise. A remake and a tin. Even Shibata can't sound excited about Sonic! Or anything else... EDIT: Yacht Club just unleashed the surprise of the Direct for me!

| Majora's Mask is cool, even if it's not really a surprise, X and Splatoon still look amazing, smash and Toad are really soon, amiibo's gonna bankrupt me, mario kart and pokemon this freaking month... that was plenty for me. And Iwata, shigsy and Shibata were as great as ever. |

| That one-player mode in Splatoon looks top notch. Somebody on CVG just called it "Super Squid Galaxy", and I think that fits. Might just have sold me on that game, reviews et al. notwithstanding. Always bet on Nintendo. |

| Was a decent direct, doesn't Jas owe me & fronk a drink or something over MM3D.
But I do now think MM3D coming pushes Zelda U to 2016 which keeps Zelda Universe pretty much a annual series since about 2011. |

I got that vibe from it as well, looks like it will be great fun whatever way you play it. (single player or MP) - masofdas wrote:

Why's that? Did I say it wouldn't happen or that it was the wrong thing for them to do? I still stand by the latter as we have practically got Zelda games (or a spin off) coming out our ears, I've always seen Zelda games as a special event and having these spin offs or remakes takes away a bit of that shine for me. --- I really enjoyed that direct overall, just like balla the shovel knight announcement stole the show for me & the only thing I would've like to have seen was more solid release dates for certain games. |

| A decent showing, although hardly exciting. It just reiterated a bunch of things I already knew outside the squid thing that doesn't really grab me. I suppose majoras mask is new although to be honest the surprise with that would have been if they never did it. Actually as much as I like majoras mask ( best 3d zelda and this isn't even remotely up for debate) I think it actually says a lot of bad things for the fate of the 3ds that the killer announcement for the direct was a enhanced port. Low key productions like that make me think the bulk of Nintendo's efforts are going elsewhere, partly to the wii u but also likely partly to the next portable. Which in turn means the 3ds is likely going to be finding itself put out to pastier very soon. RIP 3ds, you had a good run. |

| Pretty average for me, not enough solid dates and the big announcement was the worst Zelda getting a port. Splatoon does now have my attention, the single player looked really fun, I just hope it's meaty enough to carry the game on it's own. Captain Toad is sort of hovering over the abyss of total apathy though, they showed off almost every stage and other than feeling "aww, cute" it didn't exactly look all that fun to actually play.
Super excited for Xeno and STEAM though. |

| I'm pretty hyped for Toad in the New Year. As for the 3DS, I sort of agree and sort of don't. If Nintendo really were putting the game out to pasture ("pastier" sounds like they're sending it to Cornwall!), would they be plugging time, effort, and substantial E3 space into Project STEAM? A risky new franchise idea? I'm not sure about that myself. Then again, I guess they did the same with Xenoblade. Maybe STEAM will be the handheld's last hurrah. |

| Yeah I'm hyped for Toad as well as it's just after xmas and is only £29.99 it seems, so very good.
Hoping Splat is early Q2 (April) as it does look good even the SP and the MP was really fun of what I played and having a MP shooter on Wii U would be nice anyway.
On the 3DS is weird as it does have some big games coming but it's biggest is a port, it will soon be 4 years old the 3DS and you think a console normally last 5 years but with the New 3DS coming you wouldn't suddenly bring out 4DS November 2015 but this is Nintendo.
Ohh and some nice indies coming it seems.
@Jas yeah you said it was silly and annualising the Zelda Universe was stupid and that it should be a special thing. Which I do agree with but Hey! Money! |

| You know what I'm surprised we didn't see in that direct? Devil's Third, surely that can't be long away from being released. |

| That would surely be down to not wanting to raise the ratings for 1 (average looking) game, I would think. |

| So last year we had the VGX's which Reggie & retro showed of DKC:TF on the Dec 7th 2013 then 11 days after we got a Nintendo Direct.
Today/Tomorrow there's the Game Awards which Reggie is at which has lead people to believe that we will have a Direct around about the 17th of this month.
It might be wishful thinking but would be nice to have one more direct before the year is out. |
