| Can't believe there's no thread on this yet. Don't have it, but it's definitely something I want to get my hands on RIGHT NOW, primarily because of this theme (possible spoilers?). It's only from my favourite webcomic ever! So, looks like I'll be acquiring it on my Mac then. Third Steam game ever - never finished the first two. So, I have a question for all y'all Nontendo blokes. I'm aware there's a peaceful option and a genocide option and halfway houses and whatever. I don't care for playing games multiple times. So, very simply: what's the quickest way to see the true ending? In spoiler tags, please, for everyone else; and with minimal in-game spoilers, please, for me. Thanking you!

| The quickest way to see the true ending is to look it up on YouTube. - Spoiler:
There are three endings: one for killing every enemy, one for not killing all the main/ speaking characters and the perfect ending for not killing anyone at all. To get the perfect ending, it cannot be your first play of the game, even if you didn't kill anyone. That said, a second go doesn't take that long and there are lots of clever little changes so it isn't just literally playing through again. Also, beating some of the last fights when you've not levelled up at all is really hard. If for some reason you absolutely refuse to play it s second time, even though that's really just the second part of your first time, I think after the ending you can reload a save and just redo the last little bit.

| Oh, Drunka, you card. Hoping I can either a), justify a new laptop soon, or b), get this on a Nintendo format soon. |

| My laptop's fairly crappy, but new. Hopefully it can run this - once I have a working debit card. - Spoiler:
I think I'll probably play it through twice, first genocidal-ish, second time pacifist. The runs sound different enough, from what I know, to make it worthwhile.

| If you've got a soul, you'll not be able to bring yourself to do a genocide. I couldn't kill anyone, which made me super under-levelled for the finale... |

| Hence the "ish"! In reality I'll probably do two pacifists like the weepy liberal I am. |

| A console port for this sounds incredibly unlikely so I'm getting more and more tempted to just buy it. Really can't be bothered with installing Steam again though as it really messes with my laptop... |

| Oh, I really could gush about this game, but I'm saving it all for a "this is my GOTY" write-up on Gintendo. It's something special - clever, funny and full of heart. After getting the true pacifist ending, I literally could not bring myself to go and do a total genocide playthrough. That's how much I was attached to that world after beating it. But as for the quickest route to said true pacifist ending: - Spoiler:
If you play through the entire game without killing anything and completing two specific events (almost sidequests) related to some of the main characters, you won't have to fully replay the game. There's a third sidequest event you have to complete before unlocking a final area and the true ending.
Honestly though, play it your first time through how you want to play it. Kill who you want, spare who you'd like, and enjoy the ride. I don't think my pacifist runthrough would have had nearly as much of an emotional kick had I not killed certain characters on my first playthrough. |

| I don't know about any other Undertale veterans, but I am still getting various tunes from the game's soundtrack stuck in my head for hours on end on a semi-regular basis.
That I haven't gone mad from this infectious soundtrack is a testament to how good it is. |

| I played this for the first time recently, and I need to go through it again on a second run. All I can say is...PLAY THE GAME! Don't look up anything and spoil a single moment. The less you know, the better! It's totally worth it. |

That I haven't gone mad from this infectious soundtrack is a testament to how good it is. I regularly find myself humming Bonetrousle and I've had Death by Glamour stuck in my head for the past couple of days thanks to this here mindblowingly good animation. - DarrenK wrote:

Absolutely. Whilst "go in as blind as possible" should be a general rule of thumb for most games, it doubly applies here. |

| I'm playing it! I'm playing it!
I already killed a thing. A randomly encountered thing. Is there a neutral ending I should be gunning for, and have I mucked it up already? If so, will starting again cure it, or will the game... remember? |

| I think there are quite a few endings, so maybe there's a neutral one?
My advice would be to keep going unless you really want to restart. This is a game that's worth going through a couple of times because of how the game changes based on your actions, so don't worry about being Mr Perfect the first time around. |

| Nah, keep going Balla - the game's short enough to warrant a second runthrough gunning for the "true" ending, which can't actually be seen on your first time through. I think the worst thing you can do is think "crap, I need to spare everyone", because that's not playing the game how YOU want to play it. Enjoy the ride. Speaking of which, how are you finding it so far? |

| Play how it feels natural to you Balla, and try not to bring what you've heard elsewhere into it. |

| Not much chance of that in the Internet age. And frankly I wouldn't want to play the game twenty times through to experience everything. Twice will do me.
As for the game thus far, I've really not got much into it. 'Salright, bit retro-like for my tastes. Soundtrack's likewise just alright thus far. The only thing that's really got me thus far was Flowey doing his transform. |

Part of me knew this was coming... As an aside, I've always found it odd that the forum's biggest Nintendonly gamer is so anti-retro. |

| Not very far at all! I've just been told not to go any further. I'll give you some further views when I meet my next character. - Drunkalilly wrote:

Not by choice, but yes, not a fan of NES-like spritework (although Flowey's second face...) or chiptunes. |

| Toriel. Now puzzling through some puzzly puzzles. Killed a veggie thing, they're irritating. And I'm not great at bullet hell. |

| Ah! I ignored her and powered onwards. Neither was I, but you get better at bullet hell as the game goes on. Sounds like you're still very early on - the best is yet to come, sir! |

| This is a joke like last time with Twitter Akinwale Lakeru @Sempuukyaku (Developer Support: Nintendo of America.) Hey, @FwugRadiation! (Toby Fox, creator of Undertale.) Are you available for me to reach out to you when you get a chance? Let me know if that's cool |

| The game used Game Maker, which doesn't export to Nintendo devices. To port it over the game would have to be pretty much made from the ground up. |
