| Not sure exactly what it was, but I'm not feeling much about it at this time. I do miss the LAyton games, so perhaps it was just not having any idea what was going on that put me off a bit. Wasn't impressed with the talking dog, that's gonna get annoying...
Also what does a joing 3DS/Phone release mean? Is it gonna be silly priced on phone so nobody buys it, or a budget experience for 3DS? |

| More to the point, the heroine is apparently Layton's daughter. Layton had sex!? This has permanently damaged my worldview! did he keep the hat on |

| Being a veteran of the Layton Brothers: Mystery Room title, I hope the feel of Ladyton ( ) is closer to the DS and 3DS Layton games. Mystery Room was too dark for me. - Spoiler:
-
It was almost as if you were buddying up with a traditional Layton villain by the end. Ladyton better not be so malevolent!
In any case, I can't wait for this. Think of the cameo potential! I'll have to check out that video at some point... |

| I'm really into this! I liked the first one, but left it too long to play any more and didn't feel up to sitting through all of them, so a soft reboot will be appreciated. |

| Big fan of the series and it looks like it's got typical level-5 goodness so I'm in! And love the talking dog! |

| Checked the video: I'm in. I like her hat. Also, her name sounded like Katherine Layton to me - sounds right. Finally... she's got her mother's eyes. |

"This reminds me of a puzzle" But srs, that looks excellently epic - even though the puzzles are going to be the same old. I take it, if you're Japanese, you recognise the faces in that trailer. Who's doing the voice of our Kath in the English version? |

| So I'm holding my hand up: according to the God Is A Geek write-up, Lady Layton's first name is 'Catriel'. Given that her brother's name is 'Alfendi', it fits. No idea who's going to do the English voice of the Lady... is Christopher Robin Miller free? |

| Personally, I don't think you can cast beyond Sarah Millican. "Here, that statue looks a bit like mi' nunny" |

| Kate Gray's Twitter posts have got me reasonably excited for this. I'll be getting the 3DS version, when it emerges. Any idea when that is, Zeroster? |

| Wikipedia has the date as 'October 2017'. I patiently await a more accurate one. |

| I'm really behind on Layton, so in theory if I wanted to play one I could just go grab a second hand one right now. Even so, I'm more tempted to get a new one and play along with people. |

Wait no longer, Past Zero! NintendoLife reports 6th October as the release date for the game. Still as keen as mustard to get my puzzling hands (I am aware) on this. |

| Good to see the series come back after a few years. Layton is one of those sort of games that I wouldn't mind seeing yearly - you know what you're getting, good comfort gaming. |

| Yesterday I found myself in my local GAME, doing a massive set of preorders. The only one that wasn't in 'the system' was Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaire's Conspiracy. I guess I'll try again in a few weeks because I don't see them getting many copies of this in, sadly... and I needs me my Laytonic fix!

| I am now both an owner and a player! A player of the game, that is. So far, so Layton-esque: the main cast have been introduced, the first puzzle had an answer, accordions. More on this story later - did anyone else take the plunge? |

| Christmas for me too, but that's if I get it at all. It's been a while, but I'm not sure I care to get out my 3DS again to sit through another helping of the same old tricksy puzzles - not without a decent plot and characters, and has been damning about those elements on the Twitters. Damning. |

| Last night I stayed up a bit to beat the first case. So far it feels like - Spoiler:
-
most of the charm and whimsy has stayed intact, particularly with regards to the oddball nature of the explanations of the stories. Up to press, though, there's been none of the dark edge that usually snarls in the shadows of a Professor Layton game. There's time yet, though, naturally.
Also, maybe it was my tired brain, but some of the instructions for the puzzles could have been worded better.

| Applause Chap is all very well: I've heard from various sources that it's the weakest Layton by far, and considering I had problems with some of the others (only Lost Future and Azran Legacy were actually great in my opinion) I'll probably skip it.
But sure, thread title change and shifted into the Switch forum! |
