Yesterday I was watching GameXplain and they were talking Switch line-up and they brought up the Wii U and heard elsewhere talked about the 3DS as well, no one seemed to be able to really remember what was on those two in the first 12 months part from a odd title here and there.
With even the likes of GameXplain not being negative but saying things like well I want these 4 games on Switch and that's it as there is nothing else coming, we know this not to be true from my big list which is over 100 games in some form.
As you see from the thread title, lets actually see how good or bad the Switch is compared to Nintendo's last gen offerings in the first ever GNamer Gaming Versus.
This is only a select few games as I'm not listing like 100+ games on each system, if you do want to look then Switch, Wii U and 3DS games can be found in those links.

VS.
3DS Games:
1. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II 2. Dead or Alive: Dimensions 3. FIFA 12 4. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars / Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game / Harry Potter: Years 5–7 5. Madden NFL Football 6. Nintendogs + Cats 7. Pilotwings Resort 8. Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D 9. Puzzle Bobble Universe 10. Rabbids 3D 11. Rayman 3D 12. Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D 13. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
I've tried to make it fair with each system has a Zelda for instance or a fighter and Mario is the cut off point for each system. The 3DS looks by far the weakest line-up and looking back, no wonder we got a price drop rather quickly.
On the Switch and Wii U front both are fairly even but a proper Zelda not a HD port of Wind Waker, a proper 3D Mario not a 3D version of a 2D Mario, Kart 8 not Sonic Racing, Sonic Mania not Sonic Lost World and so on I think gives the Switch the edge.
What about you guys?

I'd say the Switch is looking heads and shoulders above the other two there. A totally new Mario and Zelda along with a plethora of indies and other Ninty spin-offs? No contest.

Sure but then something like Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate came out in the first year of the Wii U which Jas has put nearly 600hrs into, does that one game make the Wii U a better line up then the Switch for someone like him?

History will be a better judge than we can be here, because hype almost always beats playing the game you were hyped for, I would say. That said, neither the Wii U nor the 3DS were terribly impressive for a long while and the Switch looks like it'll smash it very early on, as Jay says.

Nah, it just makes it one phenomenal game so I'm going to agree with Zero here.

They were all bangers and the Switch is going to be even more of a banger. The 3DS went on to do better and better, as did the Wii U for a bit but it did admittedly stumble eventually. The Switch is going to launch better than either, here's hoping it keeps going better than either after the first year as well.

Tell you what, it never got better for the Wii U than this:
What a start that was by the way. The first year had a lot of promise, but nothing ever looked as good as that first ZombiU trailer.

Miiverse + Funky Barn. That's why Wii U > 3DS, Wii, Switch, N64, and GC ALL COMBINED.

It's noticeably apparent how many ports/remasters padded out the first year of these systems, especially when compared to say, the Gamecube or N64. Both which I'd argue had better first years in terms of great games.

Hoo boy, this is as easy a choice as choosing between a dental extraction, ingrown toenail extraction, or a mole removal. All of them were different shades of, to be polite, meh, in their first nine to twelve months.
The Wii U had nsmbu, an "original" title, technically more than either the 3ds or the Switch could boast, but being a carbon copy of two very new titles that already felt very bland, well, you get the idea.
Then there's the 3ds, despite being the best nintendo system in over a decade (yes, better than the original ds, f1ght me m8) its launch was genuinely one of the worst I've ever seen only bested by apocalyptic launches like the xbone and ps3. It remains to this day the best example of all of Nintendo's worst, and best, traits.
Ultimately I'd give it to the switch. Judging launch titles you likely won't find better than Zelda U (it shall forever be a Wii U game as TP is a gamecube game as far as I'm concerned), except perhaps N64's very own Mario 64 in days past.

Cripes. I'm totally sure I've played more as Marth than I have as Roy, so it's got to be he. I even had his amiibo at one point so that a), I could test out how useful he was in Code Name S.T.E.A.M. (v. poor - no ranged weapon made him mincemeat on even the early stages ) and b), he could give me another coat for my Woolly Yoshi.

I'm thinking the same as I've used Marth in more games, if I maybe played the old FE games then it could be different.

I've not played Roy's Fire Emblem game, and Marth is pretty bland in his own Fire Emblem game. However, seeing as the voice of Noctis also voices Roy in Fire Emblem Heroes, he gets my vote.

Marth, because as far as I'm concerned they're Smash characters, and Marth has never been a dirty clone.

Roy because once me drunka and some other guys were walking back to his after a night out and some rando drunk hoodies came up to us and started doing some "bantz." They demanded our names at some point, to which I thought of my boi, Roy... Or at least, the name Roy.

Seems Marth just wins it, now we move on to a big one and it comes from chat on the forum and on the cast.
Which is best 2D or 3D Zelda?
Reason I've brought this up is in the influential games thread, I talk about 2D Marios and Sonics. I think one of the reasons, I still prefer Sonic is that's what I grew up on, I think the same applies to Zelda.
My first Zelda was Wind Waker, I own all the 2D ones and I can understand why they are well regarded but I'm not a fan at all. Zero on the Podcast talked about how he prefers 2D Zeldas which I would gather he grew up on.
Let's decide this once and for all.

I've always got on with 3D Zelda more, so I'd give my vote towards that.
What I will say though is that whilst I feel the general quality of 3D Zelda games is higher than in 2D Zelda, my favourite Zelda is a toss-up between Wind Waker and A Link Between Worlds, so there's not really a correct choice here for me. I've a funny feeling Breath of the Wild will end up cementing my choice, ironically enough considering it's drawing influence from the world design of most 2D Zelda games.

I definitely have to go with 3D Zelda.
For me, Zelda is as much about atmosphere and character, music and visuals, as it is the pure mechanics. I like being swept along on a grand adventure, feeling the world come to life and having to save it. The big Zelda games do a wonderful job of this, often telling through great game design better stories than games ten times more verbose.
While 2D Zelda games can have a good amount of this, they often feel like they're grasping for the scope of their more advanced counterparts. Link to the Past is great, but I can hear it wishing we could come down to the ground and step a little closer, see these people and tales up close.
That being said, the mechanical play of 2D Zeldas can often be much more tight. Particularly in games like Link Between Worlds or the multiplayer efforts, where the nature of handheld play is embraced, they can feel like a much more appetising prospect for a quick go. I couldn't fire up Skyward Sword over and over just to while away the minutes.
Like I said, I definitely vote 3D. I think both kinds have their merits, and I'm glad to see them, but what I want from a Zelda is captured better with each technological leap.
