| Jas and Muss have it right, for me. Devs will describe the Switch in whatever fashion makes the most sense from a marketing perspective: "best handheld FIFA ever" is more positive and will result in more sales than "weakest home console version of FIFA 18". You talk up your product, what what. |

| Hmm, I think it is, or should be, a little more positive than it might have been for the Wii and Wii U. That's entirely because of the handheld angle. Whereas the Wii and Wii U were 'just' underpowered consoles (that did or tried to do new and interesting things in a stagnant market that can only innovate by stealing from sci-fi and cocking it up, but hey), you now also have the most powerful handheld ever. There is a new way for even the most creativity-stricken dev to look at this console.
I think the message is different, because it can be, because Nintendo has given it a way to be. |

| Certainly also lines up with what the likes of Reggie and Layden, have said about PS4 and Switch coinciding due to having what will be very different libraries. |

| We had some chat about the 3DS in a Switch thread about Picross thanks to Andy and that all went to the wayside.
I would like to bring up some things since this thread was last used and that's the sales of Chicken Wiggle or whatever it's called, Metroid and Monster Hunter dropping out of the UK charts quicker then England at a international football tournament (Japan as well in the case of Metroid, not seen the NPD from USA yet) and how we maybe using our Switches as from listening to podcasts etc seems handheld mode is used a lot on the Switch.
You could also take upcoming 3DS games into account which includes remasters, enhanced 3rd versions for instance. |

| The Pokemon company announced that Ultra Sun and Moon will be the last Pokemon RPGs for the 3DS. We all know a Pokemon RPG is coming to Switch, will the last Pokemon on 3DS and the launch of one on Switch signal that the Switch has replaced the 3DS? |

| For The Pokémon Company, almost certainly. Whether it's the same for Nintendo or not is another matter. |

| I think/hope it will be. What can they make that won't now sell better on the hot-cakes-selling Switch? Granted, if it wasn't doing its best warm Victoria sponge impression, they might have been tempted to go for the machine that already has the massive audience. Since it is, however, resembling a toasty Eccles, why not try to help sell machines at the same time, taking advantage of it being front-and-centre in the public eye?
I reckon Sushi Striker will be the last Nintendo game exclusively for 3DS. There might be the odd New 3DS dual-release afterwards. |

| Also we've found out today the kids worked on Ultra Sun and Moon with the main team working on the Switch version. |

| Ninty Life put this out yesterday, about how Nintendo themselves seem to be shying away from 3D. I can't say I was ever outright bothered by the lack thereof in M&LSS+BM (mouthful), but as someone who really enjoyed the 3D when done well, it's a right shame. And it makes me think: this is twice that Nintendo's new 3DS has helped scupper the owners of the old one. First the New 3DS, given rise to games like Monster Hunter Stories and Hyrule Warriors that chug on the old model; and now the New 2DS, and the resulting lack of focus on 3D.
The 3DS is a good machine, don't get me wrong, but I don't like what Ninty have done with its mid-gen. versions. Not at all.

| Well did improve the 3D with the New 3DS.
I saw a review for Fire Emblem Warriors which unlike Hyrule was a New 3DS games and the review was like the permadeath is coming to the 3DS as it's showing its age and that's a game for the more Powerful system. |

| I always thought the decision to bring Warriors to 3DS was a bit odd anyway, surely it doesn't run all that well with the pace of the game.
It'll be interesting to see where they go from here, I do think more games will be coming to the 3DS but not for long, will be hard to imagine Nintendo as a one console company though. I think in the long run it'll benefit them. The emphasis on mobile games now also means that if the want to release a quick and easy handheld experience then they'll still have that option.
