My Thoughts: Not a lot for me this month, in this months pay packet I'm picking up from August still Uncharted, Everybody's Golf, Life is Strange, Mario + Rabbids, Monster Hunter XX and The Last Day of June plus any other indies that I've got a lot to play and before I get paid again on the 14th nothing really is doing much for me as I've gone off these big AAA western games like Destiny, Knack 2 will be okay but I've got better platformers to play and Warriors All-Stars looks good but Fire Emblem Warriors is coming at some point and I'd sooner play that.
Monster Hunter Stories is on the wrong console and LEGO Worlds, I think I'd sooner watch someone make stuff then do myself.
Post 14th, Dishonored I'll likely get as £20 for stand-alone DLC is a decent price and that's about it from the month part from maybe FIFA on Switch as I think I can get for £30.

My Thoughts: I may buy GotGVol.2 especially if I've finally sorted out a 4K player of some sort. May go see Kingsman in the Cinema, might import DQX, want to watch Star Trek but I will likely wait till all is out or at least the first half.
Fire Emblem Musou must be getting a western date sooner and as Nintendo are doing stuff this year at Gamescom, I'm thinking soon. Cuphead finally comes out but I think all the hype it had has gone but hopefully be a good game still.
Then the big one the SNES Mini which I've got preordered.
What about you guys? I think it's one of the worst months we've had all year but thankfully the late August games will keep me busy.

The thread title - brilliant inclusion at the end there. The Crumpster will be chuffed.
This is a busy month, jeez. I'll still be tucking into MHXX and Kingdom Battle and I'm interested in:

Some good picks, but why I'm the negative nancy on the month as with those
The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ NS, I own a USA version and not somehting I'd buy myself
Monster Hunter Stories 3DS, On 3DS not Switch
Rayman Legends Definitive Edition NS, Played on Wii U and I think I may own on PS4 via Plus
Metroid: Samus Returns 3DS, I don't like Metroid but will give Prime 4 ago though
Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite PS4, ONE, PC, This is sort of tempting but I've played nowhere near enough Injustice to warrant this
Pokemon Silver 3DS (Digital Code), If it wasn't on the 3DS then I may have been tempted
Pokken Tournament DX NS, Wasn't a fan on Wii U and I played on Wii U
Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony PS4, VITA, This I would like but I'm still yet to play the second

Well, having not touched the Wii U's library means the ports and whatnot are worth it in my eyes.

I will be placing cash on counters for Metroid: Samus Comes Back, Pokémon Au (through the VC) and FIFA 2 times 3 squared. Umming and aahing will take place over Monster Hunter's Tories (it'll be a labour of work, wink ). Away from dem video gaems, only Kingsmen 2 appeals.
Finally, I'd like to echo my foxtrot fellow admin by saying "Great title work". Great title work.

Got nothing against ports, I'm pro ports but would also like some new games as well on my new console.

Good month for my 3DS, with both MSR and MHS getting in on the portable action. Come on Switch, stop lagging behind. Bet there's nothing for it next month either.

@Jay: if you've not played Rayman Legends before, it's an absolute recommend from your fellow administratorialator. Get your gaming mitts on the demo.
@Balla: October's got Super Mario Odyssey in it, sir!

It's all about Metroid II for me as I already have the LE version of the game pre-ordered along with the amiibo & I also have an order down for the SNES mini, I'm really interested in PES 18 & MH stories but I don't think I'll pick up either of those on day one.
EDIT:

You still on this? I know I said elsewhere that a little part of me wishes it was on Switch too but saying it's on the wrong console is a bit ridiculous, for me the 3DS is still my system of choice when going on short trips or generally being out and about (The Switch is for long trips/holidays etc) & from what I've played of the demo it's well suited to 3DS so it really isn't on the wrong console it just happens to be on one you're not keen on playing anymore.
Plus the biggest reason it isn't (on Switch) is likely down to development cost/timing as this was already out in Japan before we even fully knew what the Switch was.

Eh, I'm in the middle of you two here. I'd rather see it on Switch, and have no problem taking that machine out for short trips; but not if that meant starting from scratch and ratcheting up development costs for minimal returns.

Destiny 2 will be the big one, will definitely grab MH Stories too. At some point I'll also pick up Pokken and Metroid, but not super excited for either so no rush (watch me pick them both up day 1...)

I understand why it's not Switch but I've said that I'm done with the 3DS and we've had a whole thread about it about how a bunch of us feel about the 3DS now.
I've used my Switch for short trips and took to a Nintendo event the other week with others bringing their switches as well.

I'm in the camp that I prefer having stuff on my Switch and would like to quietly retire my 3DS,but this is a month with three definite 3DS purchases (Monster Hunter Stories, Pokémon Silver and Metroid) and only maybes like Pokken on the Switch!

PES PES PES. They've brought back 'Random Select' which is a massive plus for anyone who played the PS2 games.
I'm tempted by the Limbo/Inside pack although they are often in sales so it's just the novelty of owning the physical for those.

Came in here expecting to say "nada, like usual" but then I see we're getting Ys 8 and Danganronpa V3 (not to be confused with the trashy anime, entirely different thing). Definitely nabbing Danganronpa V3, and while I could jump on my soapbox regarding Ys 8 and how NISA basically sniped the rights to it from XSEED who put in all the work in establishing the franchise's western presence we all know I'll buy it at some point.
Nothing else though. No, not even Gold and Silver, if it doesn't have running shoes I ain't playing it!
Also a heads up that you don't need to have played DR2 or watched the D3 anime to play DRV3 Mas, it's an entirely new story that departs from the Hopes Peak storyline that spanned the first game through to the (disastrously bad) anime conclusion (basically it was announced and billed as a soft-reboot for the series). Do play Danganronpa 2 at some point if you get the time though, it's top notch.

I would like to offer a counterpoint: there are two episode in the anime that are very hard to sit through, but it's still for the most part a good watch. The ending is... controversial, shall we say, but the rest is a'right.

Spoilered for size and actual spoilers:
Compared to the sheer brilliance of the games it's a complete farce. The incredible zany insane mysteries of DR1 and (especially) DR2 are replaced by "mysteries" that decided to be as predictable and safe as humanly possible. On top of that the ending to the entire thing took the biggest dump a piece of fictional work can do to its predecessors by taking the biggest thing about the previous stories and removing it.
Huge spoilers:
Whoever thought that making a series about death games and bringing every single person who died in the previous one back to life was a good idea to close out the storyline is an absolute idiot. As was making a new death game where nobody worth a damn died.
Trivialising death is always a big no-no in fiction, death is supposed to be the ultimate punishment for characters who f*** up. When you start to trivialise it you remove any sense of concern and sense that there are actual stakes in the conflict, because if the ultimate fictional punishment isn't something to be concerned over then why even worry about what's going to happen? When you start playing around with death and its permanency you have to be extremely careful.
On top of all of that there's the fact that they not only come back to life, but they suffer no consequences for their actions. Even ignoring the retcon regarding how they became Ultimate Despair none of them ultimately pay for the things they did in the virtual world. A good third of them offed another third, and yet the show showed absolutely no redemption beyond a vague idea that they'll work off their bad karma while having good times forever more. Hell they didn't even have the injuries DR2 told us they'd inflicted on themselves as Ultimate Despair beyond Nagito having a metal hand (which is arguably a upgrade).
If it wasn't for the double-combo of the lead writer of the games not being directly involved with the anime's episodes along with the fact that V3 is a soft-reboot I frankly wouldn't even bother with it after the farce of the DR3 anime. It s*** on far too much of the games principles to be forgivable. Everything that made the first two games compelling was completely ruined, the spoiler stuff was as badly thought out as you can get. But even ignoring that you have Despair Syndrome being nothing more than mind control (and not even the good clever kind at that) rather than the brilliant concept of the inner darkness within a person, and by extension Hope was also ruined. You also have a major villain being turned from a master manipulator and corrupter into a psychotic idiot who lucked into mind control (which was also a badly done retcon I might add).
Oh, and of course those two episodes in question. Because yay for playing the zany yet brutal executions completely straight. Whoever decided to do that needs to never touch a Danganronpa script again. Even if it had been another zany execution it would have been completely heartbreaking, it absolutely didn't need the revolting brutality on display.
To put it simply the DR3 anime was supposed to be a send-off to the series up to that point, a celebration of it if you will. And yet everything about it showed that is had absolutely no clue about what made Danganronpa, Danganronpa. On top of all of that there's the simple fact that it was bland, boring, and predictable at its best. If there's one thing Danganronpa should never be it's bland boring and predictable.

Shrug. I'm not anime connoisseur, but (those two episodes aside) I enjoyed it. Had my misgivings about the final episode, but I'm okay with it overall. Make of that what you will, those who have yet to watch!
