| Same thing as a typical music topic, but for anything not on a Nintendo console, I predict a lot of RPG music. So, lets get this party started! My first three picks will be these. Interrupting Balladeer! Non-Nintendo Music Weeks Index is here.To Zanarkand https://www.youtube.com/v/M8Iu6vhlxNU A lovely theme from Final Fantasy X. Next up a bit of a hot blooded battle theme, Ernst, from Ys VI The Ark of Napishtim. https://www.youtube.com/v/4yORkjoFWLw Finally, No Knowledge of Wisdom from Valkyrie Profile 2 Silmeria https://www.youtube.com/v/4yyVY42XlQ4

| I love post-war game music!
https://www.youtube.com/v/8SadX_yYa1c
Technically cheating here, as it's a real song, but the actual original soundtrack for Fallout 3 is pretty wank. And Billie Holiday, you cannot go wrong with that. Slaughtering ghouls and super mutants with this playing in the background should not have worked in the slightest, but damn, it was fun.
https://www.youtube.com/v/nlu2z2gkhhI
Walking into the ballroom where Sander Cohen's nightmarish mural sat upon the wall with this brilliant track from Bioshock playing in the background is one of my favourite sections of that game. Everything about Cohen was just so wonderfully unhinged, and this beautiful piano piece reflects him well. Balla, you'll like this one I feel.
https://www.youtube.com/v/xiGKxCAg_0o
And to close off my first music week in this thread, I'd be amiss to not include this. Those horns.

| Some underappreciated J-RPGs and their underappreciated music.
https://www.youtube.com/v/H_ncZLzfVAU
Lost Odyssey's map theme is amazing. It starts out like the opening credits from a spaghetti western or something, but then around 1:40, inexplicably launches into some power chords. I've no idea why, and I never heard the power metal section playing through the game normally, but it's brilliant.
https://www.youtube.com/v/TM3BIOvEJSw
Eternal Sonata is great. A game which takes place inside Chopin's mind as he lies on his deathbed, with a world full of musical references? Genius. As you'd expect from a game laden with musical references, the music is superb.
https://www.youtube.com/v/1Qn6GVA8DGM
I associate this music with pain, as I'm fairly certain it takes place in an infuriating desert area...but that doesn't stop it from brilliant. The ominous piano at the beginning, the strings kicking in around the one minute mark, those dramatic horns, before a sort of Gerudoesque acoustic section around the 1:30 mark - all add up to a brilliant track.

| Nice choices all round so far, I like what I've been hearing.
Anyway, time for week two. A bit late since my left ear was full of wax for some reason and needed fixing, which happened a few hours ago. So, without further delay, my music picks for week two.
Pick 1: Demon Lord Nine Tails Extermination from Okami https://www.youtube.com/v/WBTrOMUigdk
For some reason this has always been my favourite battle theme from this game.
Pick 2: Assassin's Creed 2 Venice Rooftops https://www.youtube.com/v/5EaRHlo4B0Y
I'll admit I didn't get far in this game as it was a rental and I got sidetracked, however I did fall in love with this theme.
Pick 3: Blinded by Light from Final Fantasy XIII https://www.youtube.com/v/hriK5P2HbFw
The lovely battle theme from Final Fantasy 13.
Bonus Pick: Silver Will Super Arrange version https://www.youtube.com/v/w-TkiaVXpVw
Because Silver Will was posted earlier, just felt compelled to post this.

| I do like licensed music in games.
https://www.youtube.com/v/JEgVI-IKpqk
Say what you will about Call of Duty, but it's definitely a competent FPS, and CoD: Blops is one of the best in the series. For a game set mostly in Vietnam, the use of the Rolling Stones here is brilliant as you thunder down a river shooting those pesky Vietnamese. It's a cracking Stones song enhancing a brilliant level in the game.
https://www.youtube.com/v/kjY1WYB3We
Mad spoilers here! Don't read if you don't want Gears of War 3 spoiled. Got it? Good.
This stripped back version of Mad World doesn't have any vocals, and it's the backdrop to a surprisingly touching scene for a game about space marines chainsawing aliens in twain. John Di Maggio's voice acting in this scene is heart-wrenching, and the piano instrumental really adds to Dom's sacrifice.
https://www.youtube.com/v/5oWKCp102ic
This is my favourite thing in any video-game released in the past five years. Honestly, I can't think of anything else in a video game that had the same effect on me as this scene. You've just finished a tense shootout on a raft before you end up south of the border. You hop on a horse, and suddenly this beautiful track by Jose Gonzalez starts playing. You're treated to some stunning visuals of the Mexican plains, and you realise how alone and alien this place seems compared to the Old West. You're riding off to meet some new people, all the while this simply beautiful acoustic track is playing in the background. I really could gush for hours about just how damn good this scene is. Rockstar, Jose Gonzalez, damn fine job sirs.
I just hope you didn't get off your horse or get attacked, because that cuts off the track. And that would suck.

| I see Okami. Good man.
I also see FF XIII....Blinded By Light, no less. Bad man (has there been a more overrated FF/general VGM, One Winged Angel aside?)
Anyway, having gotten Atelier Ayesha and spending WAY too much time playing it over the weekend, i have to say i've absolutely fell in love with it's OST. Some really good stuff imo.
"Yesterday's Enemy is Today's Ingredient"
"A Casket of Books and an Automaton"
"Alluring Flower ~ Autumn"
More: Guidance, Sleeping Land, Journey to the New World, Alluring Flower ~ Spring, Sylpheed, Sagittarius, Undine, Salamander, Artemis, MARIA
(And this was after i cut the list down ;_; )

| Still listening to the topic, nice to take a break from my playlists every so often. Anyway, after failing to keep this thing up it's time for my next set of updates, as I just finished Persona 3 Portable I'll be doing the same here as I did in the Nintendo thread with Xenoblade. My top ten with the top three getting links. Without further ado, lets begin, and yes, the number one track is incredibly predictable.
10: Iwatodai Dorm Nothing like coming home for the night to this tune. Makes me feel both at home and like I can take on the world.
9: When the Moon's Reaching Out to the Stars Like the previous track this is a nice overworld theme that gets you in the mood for all the stuff the overworld has to offer.
8: Master of Tartarus One of two boss themes, however I actually prefer this one. It really gets me in the mood for the Tartarus bosses and the generally gruelling time it's going to take to beat them.
7: Unavoidable Battle Lovely and demented and intense, which suits the fights for Strega. If only Strega themselves weren't complete push-overs gameplay wise.
6: Living with Determination Honestly I don't really have to say much for this track since it does most of the talking itself. A great sad track that goes well with sad stuff.
5: Changing Seasons The second high school theme, and personally my favourite one of the two. Lovely and catchy, and despite hearing it practically every day for months in the game I never got sick of it.
4: Mass destruction The standard battle theme that I probably don't need to say anything about. Catchy, upbeat, intense, and engaging. Pretty much everything a battle theme should be.
3: Living With Determination -Iwatodai Dorm Mix- https://www.youtube.com/v/2Zea9JRie3M
Really sums up the mood of the last month nicely. I won't say anything else because of spoilers.
2: Memories of You https://www.youtube.com/v/GhXXJRRHKGw
Personally I think it fit the bitter sweet ending very well, and it was also a great way to wind down after the game.
1: Battle For Everyone's Souls https://www.youtube.com/v/qeFImBP1hq0
Like I said, predictable. But I honestly couldn't place this as anything but first place given it is probably my favourite final boss battle theme I've ever heard. It perfectly sums up the nature of the fight and situation without being over the top and annoying like some final boss themes can be, and it gets bonus points for when it works Aria of the Soul in to it at the 1:46 mark.
Honourable mentions go to Aria of the Soul, Want to be Close, Burn My Dread (both the opening and last battle), Memories of the City, and Wiping All Out.
Also, I left it off since it's a FES track, but Heartful Cry time. https://www.youtube.com/v/56f2Kt6IeZU

| Does anyone remember Streets of Rage 2? I used to rent it from Blockbusters and make my dad wire the ghetto blaster to the Megadrive so I could tape the tunes, they were quality. (I have just realised how retro that sounded!) Here were my favourites: Go Straight: http://https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCaRxoZtDHI Dreamer (chorus part always made me think of Eye of the Tiger for some reason...): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogHpm0BwCPU Under Logic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTHX8UD6KDI Slow Moon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yezDOb2Q9xE |

| Streets of Rage 2! That was the original multplayer game. Me and my cousin spent some quality Sunday afternoons playing it at my grandma's house where my mum couldn't find out (I was quite young when it came out). Memories. |

| Another long period of time passes, another pick of game music from non-Nintendo formats. This one is basically the non-Nintendo equivalant of my contribution to the other music topic. Arrangments of existing music.
I'll kick things off with Distant Worlds Dancing Mad from Final Fantasy VI. This is simply amazing, there is no other word for it. https://www.youtube.com/v/4upUMeULSqQ
Next up we have the Persona 3 Reincarnation version of Want To Be Close. Engrish aside I love this song. https://www.youtube.com/v/Lzziu487DmE
Finally I bring this set to a close with Gods Bound By Rules from the Niew Piano Collection. https://www.youtube.com/v/cURX25GB9hw |

| This thread has gone far too long without a new post. Let's fix that!
I've been playing/listening to a lot of stuff from the Fate series lately, which (imo) has some really good stuff. Also, lots and lots of remixes >_>
"Emiya" - Fate/stay night
Some more (just a note, spoilers abound past the links. Finding decent quality versions was pain enough, i fear near/spoiler-free ones is actually impossible): Clashing Souls, Lightning Swordsman, Light and Darkness, This Illusion(~Instrumental). Also Sonic Barrage, but no videos at all to link to.
"Last Battle" - Fate/unlimited codes
More; Sword of Promised Victory, Emiya, Sonic Barrage, Mighty Wind, Beyond Memories, Mission Battle
"Duel" - Fate/Extra
More; Battle 5, Saber, Everything Is In Your Hands, Archer, The Hero Who Nobody Knows, Dungeon 3
"Mighty Wind" - Fate/stay night [2012]
More; Light and Darkness [2012], Sonic Barrage [2012], Clashing Souls [2012]. Also, yet another Emiya remix xD

| Urgh, this thread really kills my computer. I would advise anyone who has posted here to change their videos to links. Anyway, if there's one good thing that came out of Jay's night of drunken revelry, it's this. A really good retro theme. Why he didn't post it here, the one thread in which it actually belongs, I can't thi- - Spoiler:
Oh. EDIT: Didn't put it in a spoiler when you quoted it, did ya, Silver? Anyway, done, although a .gif's impact compared to the videos is likely to be fairly negligible.

I think plenty of good things came from last night's late night forum browsing. But I'm glad someone actually listened to it, it's a cracking track. |

| Speaking of Blazblue I wonder if they're going to bundle the new soundtrack with Chrono-complicatedname when it comes overseas. The new Sword of Doom is to die for and I'd love to add the new soundtrack to my blazblue soundtrack collection if it had it. |

| I wouldn't be fussed if they didn't. The BBCP tracks i've looked up so far (Bullet Dance II, Awakening The Chaos II and some others), i've been left far prefering the original versions.
Two more BlazBlue musics - "Awakening The Chaos" and "Gale" |
